Lessons (Teddy Bear TF)
Finally got around to finishing the second story in the Ellen saga!
This one involves Ellen accidentally turning herself into a teddy bear, and also features a bit of a cameo from xtheinvisiblehandx's Haley!
______________
For the first time in years, Ellen had the unwavering desire to learn something.
The witch was shocked. She hated highschool and the only reason she didn't flunk college was because drunken college kids were fun to turn into toys. It's not like she needed a job since she could just magic up some money, so this sudden urge was odd.
She didn't want to learn math or something though; she needed better control of her magic.
Ellen was born with an innate magical potential, allowing her to manifest her magic through touch, rather than through channeling. She didn't even know channeling was an option until she met Haley. Watching Haley use her wand, Ellen could see the years of practice the witch harbored. Her spells were crisp, powerful, and fully realized. More importantly, Haley could use her spells from a distance, something Ellen couldn't do.
Though she'd hate to admit it, range wasn't Ellen's only reason for picking up a wand; she can't quite control her magic. When faced with strong emotion or desire, magic just happens instinctually. The lack of control terrifies her. What if she can't reverse a spell, or changes someone at the worst time? What if she really hurts her friends? She was a ticking time bomb and knew it. Something had to change.
After a surprisingly honest talk with Haley, Ellen was given a training wand and some short lessons. Once satisfied, Haley sent her to practice on her own.
Unfortunately, the lessons didn’t stick and Ellen was struggling.
She decided to try a levitation spell Haley practiced with all the time. Spotting a little panda on the floor, Ellen put her full focus on it. She channeled some of her magic through the wand, a visible purple orb forming at it’s tip. A small amount of the purple aura surrounded the panda, lifting it slightly. Seeing it lift, Ellen excitedly gasped and broke her concentration, sending the poor bear right back down on its face.
Ellen's smile slowly diminished. She felt so close to figuring it out. With a sigh, he decided to try a spell she knew pretty well: size adjustment. Setting her sights on the doll again, she focused on what she wanted. The familiar purple aura surrounded the panda and it began to grow. It shot up rapidly from one foot, to two, to three, and it just kept growing. Panicking, Ellen dropped the wand and touched the bear, halting it's growth at eight feet. Ellen stepped back and sat down on the floor. She looked up at the gigantic toy and anxiously laughed. The bear grew, a lot more than she wanted, but it grew. She touched the panda again, returning it to its original size.
"That was… better than I was expecting…" she said, a nervous smile on her face. "If I already know the spell, I guess I can kind of wing it." She looked at her roommate's door and had a very Ellen idea. There's no better spell to practice than her transformation one! With a devilish grin on her face, she marched on over to Stacy’s room.
Stacy was in the middle of her freelance work when Ellen waltzed in. She turned her head to the witch and shot her a glare.
"Ellen, we talked about knocking..." an annoyed Stacy said.
Ellen just grinned innocently. "Stacy, I need you help!"
"Is it magic related?"
"It is, in fact, magic related!" Ellen giggled to herself.
Stacy sighed. "Well, I was just finishing up anyway… so I guess I’ll help."
Ellen’s face lit up even brighter. "Wow, that was easier than I thought!"
“Yeah, yeah. I know you’d ask until I said yes anyway…”
Ellen let out a little laugh. “You know me so well!” She set her sights on Stacy and pulled out her training wand. Stacy stared at the wand. "Um, Ellen… what’s this?"
"I'm trying something new! Cool, right?" Ellen said gleefully.
Stacy stared through Ellen. "Do you even know how to use it?"
Ellen grinned widely. “Sure I do! I wouldn’t try it out on you if I wasn’t totally sure I knew what I was doing!”
“You’re getting a little wordy there Ellen. I’m not totally convinced…”
“Don’t worry my little teddy bear, everything will be fine!” Ellen nervously giggled, a little sweat running down her face.
"At least I know what I'm going to be... first time for everything, I guess." Stacy said. She was a little excited for something new, even if it was at her expense.
Ellen held the wand up in Stacy’s direction. As Stacy braced herself, she could see the magic begin to form at the tip of the wand. The girl closed her eyes, waiting for the warmth to overtake her.
But nothing happened.
After a moment, she opened her eyes and was greeted by a dumbfounded Ellen. Clearly, the witch had no idea what she was doing.
Ellen defeatedly lowered her wand. "Guess I'm not ready for this yet…" she said. She stared at Stacy with a longing gaze, her heart still set on collecting her teddy bear.
Stacy sighed. "I already braced myself, so you might as well finish the job..."
Ellen’s face lit up. “We’re gonna have so much fun!”
Stacy watched as Ellen began to approach her, the Witch’s arms stretched out for one of her magical hugs. To her surprise, however, Ellen stopped dead in her tracks. “I’m waiting, Ellen…”
There was no response.
Cautiously, Stacy moved in for a closer look. Ellen’s eyes were locked forward and her face hadn’t moved an inch. Stacy noticed a faint purple aura surrounding the witch. A smile crept up as she began to register what was happening.
"I guess there really is a first time for everything."
There was still no response, much to Stacy’s delight.
Ellen tried her best to speak, but her mouth just wouldn’t open. She dug as deep as she could to magic her way out of this, but nothing worked.
Suddenly, she felt an itch on her arm. The sensation spread like wildfire, covering her entire body in a coat of purple fur. As the itching subsided, Ellen’s body began to change. Her arms and legs shrunk and reshaped themselves into rounded stumps, the prickly feeling of stitching running it's way up her newly reformed limbs. The changes hit her head all at once; her ears rounded off and moved to the top of her head, while a snout protruded from her face. Her nose molded into a plastic black triangle and her mouth stitched itself into a permanent smile. Her body felt lighter, as stuffing rapidly replaced her insides. Before she had a chance to process anything, the room started to grow. It grew bigger and bigger as her body diminished in size. Her clothes slid off, burying Ellen as the changes finally slowed. Within moments, the witch was reduced to a mere teddy bear.
Ellen was panicking. Not only did her spell backfire on her, but she couldn’t figure out how to reverse it. No matter how far she dug, her magic just wouldn’t respond. Her concentration was broken when she felt the weight of her clothes lift off of her. A giant hand descended down upon her, wrapping it’s fingers tightly around her soft body. Much to her dismay, she was lifted off of the ground and bought eye to eye with her roommate. Her panic turned to dread as Stacy’s grin grew wider.
Stacy held Ellen out at arm’s length, running her eyes down the toy’s body. She flipped the bear over in one hand, playfully teasing her tail. She ran the fingers of her free hand down Ellen’s body, making sure to lightly squeeze every bit of the witch’s new form. Satisfied that the toy wasn’t going to change back, she flipped Ellen back over and stared into her eyes.
"I'm gonna have a lot of fun with you, toy!" She emphasized that last word as she playfully flicked the bear’s snout.
Ellen was a confused mess. She’d never been felt up like that before, and she couldn’t tell if she should be embarrassed or appreciative. What she did know was that she was powerless. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t reverse the spell. For the first time ever, Ellen was completely helpless.
Ellen was so lost in the moment that she hadn't noticed her gaze shifting downward. Stacy turned Ellen's body parallel to the ground, loosely holding the bear by her sides. She squeezed the bear tightly, knocking Ellen out of her trance.
Suddenly, Ellen was staring at the floor. She felt her anxiety spike even further as her fear of heights set in. The relatively short distance downward seemed like an endless pit to the witch.
Ellen felt her roommate’s grasp begin to loosen. She mentally pleaded with Stacy, but to no avail. Stacy smirked and released her hold.
Immediately, Ellen began plummeting face first. The brief moment of free fall felt like an eternity to the bear, whose anxiety had evolved into full blown panic. She smacked the ground face first, her plastic nose making a tiny impact noise as she hit the wooden tile. While her landing was physically painless, the experience shook her to the core.
With her face to the ground, she could only hear as Stacy approached. Her roommate's footsteps sounded enormous, with each new step growing more thunderous. The footsteps came to a stop as Ellen felt something rest on her back. Before she could register what it was, it pushed down. She felt an immense amount of pressure press onto her body, forcing her limbs to jut out slightly. If she could breathe, it would have blown the air right out of her.
"Whoops, I guess I didn't see you there!" Stacy said sarcastically. She lifted her foot off of the bear, and picked it up.
Being hoisted swiftly back in the air made the whole experience feel like a rollercoaster for Ellen. While she’d felt practically no pain, she was already exhausted. Was this what she had been doing to Stacy this entire time?
Stacy held the bear up to her face and smirked. “Having fun, toy?”
Ellen winced. The word "toy" hit like a rock. She hated to admit it, but Stacy was in full control.
Stacy stared at the bear for a moment and then pulled her into a tight hug.
Almost immediately, every bit of anxiety Ellen had melted away into a calming sensation of warmth. Even as Stacy released her hug, Ellen felt incredible. For a moment, she forgot about being a witch trapped as a toy, and just enjoyed being the bear that she was.
Stacy held her back up and smiled. “It felt nice to get a little payback there, but the hugs are always the best part.” She winked and hugged Ellen again, throwing the witch into a state of serenity.
“Now, we should probably figure out how to reverse this.” Stacy sighed, a little upset at the idea of losing her new toy already.
Ellen snapped back to reality. While those hugs were absolutely incredible, being a teddy bear forever wasn’t exactly an option for her.
“Come on Ellen," Stacy started, hugging her again. "Let’s go to your room and call Haley. I bet she’ll know what to do…”
Ellen mentally agreed. Much to her dismay, her gaze shifted back downwards as Stacy let the bear dangle by an arm. While some of her anxiety returned, the little bobs of Stacy’s walking helped to sooth Ellen’s fear.
Once in the room, Stacy sat at Ellen’s desk, placing the bear on her lap. She gave Ellen a little squeeze and opened the witch’s laptop. She searched a bit before finding the right video call app and dialed Haley.
Haley answered almost immediately, confused to see Stacy’s face. Before saying anything, she noticed the familiar hair of the bear in Stacy’s arms and grinned.
“Hey Haley…” Stacy waved Ellen’s arm at the camera, much to the bear’s annoyance. “We have a little problem…”
“Did the wand backfire?” Haley chuckled with an amused grin..
“... you knew?!” Stacy said sharply, squeezing Ellen a bit too rough to calm herself down.
Haley laughed louder. “Calm down, everything will be fine!. I had a feeling she’d do something like this, so I set a time limit on the wand’s spells.”
Ellen winced. Was she really that predictable?
Stacy sighed and looked down at the bear on her arms, then back to the camera. “Well, how long is she going to be like this?”
“Probably until the morning,” Haley smirked. “Hope you have some fun!”
She ended the call before Stacy could even respond.
Dumbfounded, she looked at the bear on her lap and just shrugged. “Guess we get to have some more fun, huh?”
Stacy pulled Ellen into a tight hug, giving the bear a moment of pure bliss.
While she felt pretty betrayed by Haley’s lack of confidence in her ability, she was glad that the spell wasn't permanent. And with Stacy’s hugs, she might even enjoy the tiny break.
“Oh,” Stacy started, bringing her roommate to eye level. “Since you’re like this anyway, we might as well get you into some cute clothes!” Stacy grinned as she began scouring Ellen’s room for embarrassing stuff to slide onto her little Ellen bear.
Maybe the night was going to be a bit rougher than Ellen imagined...
‐
Sun rays protruded through the blinds of Ellen's room, bathing it in a dim orange hue.
Ellen groaned as the light hit her face, forcing her to wake up. She rubbed her eyes and rolled out of bed.
As she groggily walked to the door, she peaked over and saw Stacy happily asleep on her bed.
Ellen looked down at her legs, and up to Stacy, then at her hands, and then back at Stacy. The hamster that was her brain finally started running again and it dawned on her that she had become normal.
After realizing her time as a bear had ended, she was overcome with a desire to pay the favor back and get a little bear of her own.
As she approached Stacy, she thought back to the night before. She remembered all of the embarrassing dresses Stacy forced her into, those "accidental" drops, and even the moment when Stacy tossed Ellen across the room. Still shaken by that last thought, her need for retribution peaked.
Once she reached the girl, Ellen looked down at her. Stacy was sound asleep. She looked the calmest Ellen had ever seen. Her breathing was soft and steady, and she had a tiny smile resting on her face.
Ellen sat down in the chair next to her and watched her a bit. She thought back to last night again. She remembered how completely at peace she was when Stacy held her. She was enamored by those incredible hugs that made her melt instantly. And she just adored the absolute joy on Stacy's face when she got to play with her Ellen bear. Ellen felt giddy for a moment, lost in the experience all over again.
Ellen looked at her roommate again and smiled. She didn't really need a teddy bear right now, anyway. She got up and started toward the kitchen.
Looking back at Stacy one more time, she smiled.
"Thanks for the fun night."
