When Tierdanist forces were driven out of the heartlands on Reylen, having been decisively defeated at Maredonia by coalitions of the west, they turned their wrath on their homeland Kharria. Tierdanist pillaged and burned, killing or exiling the Yhornish monks they blamed for stabbing them in the black for not helping grant the energies of the great lantern. They made their drive back to Andarris to destroy what remained of Kharria’s senate and to install a new emperor. Andarrian and Voineers rose up to face this army of fanatics, led by the Avendier family patriach, Pikaus and his sons, prince Kandris and Aerin. The battle of Andarris lasted 3 days as Tierdanists drove resistance from villages and towns following the Ruam river back to Andarris. There the Avendiers made their stand, Kharrians fought Kharrians for the first time. Ultimately Tierdanist loyalists were defeated and driven into hiding but Kharria was never the same, much of its cities seceding as free republics, the rivers and crops failed as the Yhorne chose to exodus from the east. The seeds of the next great rift and the Braelmans opportunities, would be sown in this era of freefall.
