-- AAA JUST REALISED I NEVER UPLOADED THIS ONE -
Odraani mechanics are hardy people; having to deal with overcomplicated designs, cramped spaces, unmaintainable systems, and overtimes. They rarely complain though; the pay is solid, its easy to find employment and you are unaffected by the squabbles of the commanding officers.
Only one thing makes them loose their cool; makeshift, undocumented repairs by other crew members.
Wanted to draw an Odraani mechanic in full kit for a bit + another scalie guy, tho this one turned out to be quite underwhelming; the whole pic is bland and generic, buuut at least its done.
Hope you'll like em nonetheless.

I wonder how that patch came to be on their chin. x3 Can't have been a shaving accident, maybe caught somewhere on their gear?
The markings around the eye, are those natural or face paint? :o
Also, I REALLY like this grumpy one, totally hearing him with a Slavic accent complaining about the shit other people did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEkOT3IngMQ

Oh yeah easily, and judging by the gear this one's wearing, I'd say these Mechanics got enough to worry about needing to go to the same places over and over again without dealing with a half arsed fix that actually makes things worse. (Assuming that device on the left hip is a Dosimeter)
Something I don't get about your aesthetics here.
You've made a point of saying that Odraani gear is outdated by galactic standards, but in the blurb here you mention overcomplicated designs.
I cannot think of any piece of military equipment that has DECREASED in complexity as time has gone on.

Aaah I get what ya mean, but think of it as like, overbuilt, inefficient, poorly optimised systems that take up waaay more space than it would be justified. Many times things that need the most maintenance are buried in a hard-to-reach places or can be only shut down through a needlessly long process.
For example, imagine that in order to unplug your mouse from your PC, youd need to shut it down, take off the casing and take out 2 screws that secures the cable end to the port ^^'

they doo, though it's hard to refit all the factories and shipyards across the empire; often they simply buy the pre-assambled tech from its creating nations, like sensitive deep-space sensors or artificial gravity emitters. things they often reverse engineer are tooling methods, alloys, chemical processes n such
