The piece is rougher than I'd like, but it's been a rough month. Also I was experimenting with a different simulated brush than I've ever used before, one that's a bit asymmetric between horizontal and vertical strokes. I like the different-ness of the effect, and of how it smooths, but I don't have a good feel for how to make it do what I want. But I need to work with more and different tools if I'm to be any seriously good. So, hold on to your hats, I'm going to be trying more different things.
