Wie das Hug-lap-Monster zu Fall gebracht wurde
This ink doodle is one of the ideas I wanted to draw very badly^^;
It comes along with a silly little story. Facepalm-worthy I would say.
A long time ago, a monster was plaguing a big nameless city. It didn´t kill its victims, but it spread fear in peoples´ hearts. It ambushed unaware ones in the park at night, kept them ensnared in a tight hug without letting go and licked them all over the face. Mostly young women were its prefered victims. Those who escaped its clutches were traumatized afterwards. They never could attent a furry convention any longer and developed bad cases of phobia against fursuits.
As time went on, this situation became unbearable. So two brave highschool girls, whose name didn´t come down upon us, decided to bring the threat, that was now called the hug-lap-monster, to justice. It is not yet sure, how they were able to manage to capture the fearsome beast. An unrelieable witness was only a drunken bystander, but his words could be a case of doubt however...
It is said, the highschool-girls took nothing with them as thick ropes and a piece of cloth. Every night, they wandered around the park and finally they faced the hug-lap-monster eye to eye. One brave girl took on the role of a decoy and as the monster embraced it in its fearsome tight hugs, her friend did her best to bind the beast. Many attempts they made, for the monster fought back desperately, using every little opening to hug the girls and give them wet dog kisses, ruining their make-up. Much to their surprise, the monster seamed to get weaker as the fight went on. Finally, the two could topple it over, pulling its muscular, furry arms on the back and put ropes arround the wrists, layer upon layer. Pulled against the post of a lantern, the light revealed an unbelievable sight: A werwolf-like creature, covered in fluffy fur, its buff built barely covered by a shirt that left the chest and belly exposed, with tight pants, held up by a belt, sat in front of them, struggling to get his arms free.
One highschool-girl stepped forward, the piece of cloth in hand and tried to gag the beast, that fought back valiantly, allways trying give wet doggy kisses. After a long struggle, the hug-lap-monster was helplessly bound and muzzled.
Then the story continues only in fragments. It is not sure, what the brave girls did to tame the beast, for the three of them vanished and never were seen again among mortals. Rumors have it, that the girls used the monsters weapons against it, hugged it into submission. Others are of the oppinion that the girls tortured the captured monster with belly rubs. Another theory states that they give it tight noogies, until it surrendered completely. And then there are those who thought the girls would have used tickle torture upon the monsters vulnerable pawpads, the belly button and the neck, adding chin scratches and snout-boops.
We will never know the truth, for it is gone with the brave highschool girls and the hug-lap-monster...
I know this is a silly story, but I couldn´t help myself to bring it down on paper XDDD
I wonder what you will say in the comments X3c

Well the way its written in the manner I feel you've done it feels more like they tried to make him fall over without hitting him. So "topple" is a good word to use as its something becoming unsteady and falling over, or someone forcing something to be knocked over.
Then again I think I know what you were trying to use, "Plummet", which is the same. Though from my perspective, "plummet" has been used in writing when a character falls a great distance. Like off a skyscraper and towards the ground. But since its a viable synonym, you can still use it.
Wait...nevermind, you can't "plummet" something, its not a proper use of the verb. You can topple something, but you yourself "plummet". That's not a good explanation of why plummet may not be useful. Goddamnit me.

In any case as silly this story can look for you I think its a good little silly story X3 you ikcluded all in it and in a so short text so congratulation, all that agremented with your awesome art we can't ask for more X3 !!! Arigato gozaimasu for the work Eternal-sama U/\U !

Awwww, man!!! The story is so fucking ADORABLE!!!! >//w//<! I don't know how those people didn't liked more furries after being hugged and licked by such big "bad" wolf xD!! I would just love it more and hug him all day!! The story is silly, but very, VERY sweety and heartwarming x3!!! I simply loved it xD! I am glad that this story had a "happy ending" with the wolf being captured and taking some of his own medicine, being hugged, tickled and rubbed while he is all bound and gagged, helpless to resist x3!!! You should definitely make more silly stories like this xD! Definitely it deserves a sequel xD!
About the art, you did an amazing job as always x3! I love the design of the wolf (he has a beard and muscled body /)//w//(\), he seems indeed very "bad" and handsome at the same time x3! I loved that the girls are in process of tying him up, with one struggling to bind his hands well and another going to gag him! It's a shame we could not see him gagged, but this image of the wolf having fun while licking her face like a dog is SO DAMN ADORABLE!!!
Please, make a sequel of this with the wolf already gagged and receiving belly (and neck ;3) rubs!

Thank you very much for the nice compliment me Lord *bows deeply*
This silly idea didn´t leave my mind until I brought it down on paper. I don´t know why I had this idea out of a sudden, but I am happy I have posted it. Maybe I will make a sequel. Big bound wolves getting belly rubs must look adorable

Definitely one of your most adorable artworks and with a very handsome lupine character and the story is the right kind of silly, very amusing and rather cute as well.
My thoughts would be that the monster is a wulver, one of the wolfmen of Shetland folklore whom were shy and peaceful and whom would sit on rocks patiently fishing and would do no harm to others just preferring to be left in peace. They were known to guide lost travellers and sometimes leave bundles of fish on the windowsills of poor families, or be seen paying respects outside the houses of households when there was sickness or death.
While wulvers were rather rare and solitary and usually loners, this wulver whom went by the name Farulfr was kind and gentle but he was a lot bolder than most of his kind. One day though he'd offended a glaistig when he intervened to rescue a young man from falling into her clutches and she called on the Queen of the Unseelie Court to place a glamour over him so he stumbled through a portal and was sent centuries through time and halfway across the world.
Farulfr was confused and afraid at first, taking time to recover his wits and hiding in the park where he found berries and nuts and enough squirrels and fish in the ponds to meet but he was far from his home and found himself lonely. He loved humans and wanted to try and make friends with them, greeting them as wulvers would greet one another on the rare occasions two would meet up.
Farulfr kept trying and getting more desperate to find a friend but kept frightening humans, until the two brave high school girls Laura and Caitlin found him. He wasn't sure what they were trying to do with the rope and wasn't sure he liked being tied up, though he didn't want to hurt but just trying to get free. He was afraid they thought he meant to harm young ladies and that they were going to bring the menfolk to try and kill him and he didn't like the thought of harming anyone even in self defence. So he just kept trying to show them he was friendly and try and get free.
He finally was able to realise how being so large and fierce in appearance he could have come across as frightening and though he tried to be gentle his hugs could perhaps be too tight as he was so very strong. He decided that he should try to be quiet and still to see if they'd realise that way he wasn't dangerous and not fight back with all the methods that the girls used.
He did enjoy the hugs, noting that he would just have to be very gentle in the future, though he was just confused by the noogies and he loved the belly rubs. When Laura was particularly enthusiastic with the belly rubbing she was the first human to ever discover that wulvers are actually very ticklish. Farulfr revealed he could talk, though he only spoke Gaelic and was muffled through the gag, begging for mercy within seconds of his pawpads being tickled. He did though not mind so much being tickled by two pretty girls and loved the chin scratches even if snout boops confused him like noogies.
Laura and Caitlin managed to realise that the wulver wasn't really dangerous but that the park wasn't a good place for him. Neither of them had a happy home life and they had wished to leave the city, so decided to help the wulver find his way back home. Unbeknownst to Farulfr the glaistig had regretted her earlier anger and realised her own wrong, so the wulver and the two girls managed to find the portal and return home.
Farulfr wouldn't be lonely now as Laura and Caitlin would live with him, after he built a small cottage for them. While the wulver thought of them as being his adopted daughters, they saw him as sort of their pet even after they'd learnt enough of each other's languages to fully converse with each other.
The wulver was kind and gentle and indulged the two girls, loving the chin scratches and the belly rubs or when they brushed his fur, even letting them style his beard for him. He would even not mind too much when they wanted to play their game of tying him up, even when it always seemed to be an excuse to tickle him and usually on his big feet with their sensitive pawpads. It always ended though with the girls usually getting tired and then leaning against him snuggling their heads against his furry chest, as he very gently placed his arms around them in a hug. Sometimes he even managed to get his own back with some doggy kisses.

You're welcome. I got some inspiration from the picture and your own story, so I'm glad you liked it.
I did have an idea that would be more of an alternate take on it. The werewolf was the father of the two girls and had kept it as a secret until he felt they were old enough to understand. Though he did have control over his shifting and had never hurt anyone he didn't want them to be afraid, so he decided if he showed them how to properly tie him up then they might be more assured that there was no need to be frightened of their father. He couldn't though help being a bit playful and giving an affectionate lick when it came time to try and gag him, as he did see it also as a fun game to play with his daughters.

I've always enjoyed your artwork and found it to inspire my imagination, so if some of my ideas have inspired you for your artwork I'm glad. This one in particular I think just has sparked my imagination a lot and I did have another idea for a take on it.
For more than a century, the city had been protected by the werewolf whom though he was large and fearsome in appearance and tremendously strong was a gentle giant. He watched over the humans of the city, driving away other creatures of the night whom might prey on them and scaring off muggers or vandals. The park particularly was his territory, though he did see a lot of people whom could be careless or foolhardy at night, particularly drunks or teenagers whom were unawares of dangers.
The werewolf would sometimes find he needed to teach them to be a little more careful and wary at night, so he'd sometimes give them a good fright. If it was a drunk or just some teenager, he'd usually jump out with a roar and that was enough to scare them straight. A particularly rowdy drunk whom might fancy his chances of fighting a werewolf he might have to lift them by the collar and give them a little shake, though his main concern was for the young women and high school girls whom often took shortcuts and often seemed to be unaware.
Sometimes if there were too many careless or drunk folks in the park, the werewolf would have to resort to stronger measures and be the big bad wolf for a while. Then if he caught you, you'd be 'devoured' by him, grabbed up in a massive great hug and your face licked until he was sure you'd learnt your lesson. He'd let you go eventually or sometimes you might manage to get free if you kept your wits about you.
Those whom showed themselves to be brave and resourceful or able to fight back could obviously look after themselves and he was always impressed if there was a struggle, so after a while he would decide to let you go or give in. The werewolf did have some weaknesses that had become known over time, that his fur was very soft and fluffy and he was very susceptible to belly rubs and chin scratches, along with also being rather ticklish on his belly and his pawpads.
It was only really spoken of quietly but it was known that sometimes young ladies might go out into the park and call out to the werewolf, whom was happy to come with his tail wagging and get some fuss from them, not even really minding the time when too rather mischievous high school girls decided to bind him to a lantern post and subject him to belly rubs until he fell into a contented slumber.

One last possibility I could imagine is this could be another of Eternal's avatars, there's the beard and the open shirt and certainly being very comfortable and happy about a bondage situation. Though I think leading up to this would probably be the two girls coming across the wolf and perhaps being a little frightened at first but quickly charmed by his intelligence and demeanour. Perhaps a bargain was made that they could give him as much petting including belly rubs and chin scratches, maybe even snout boops and paw tickles and he got to enjoy a nice relaxing bondage session.
thanks very much for this scenario idea. It would be Eternal at his best to act like this in this form^///^
Would be heaven to be a plush toy, bound by such gorgouse ladies and being hugged, nuzzled, belly rubs and all that *I know Eternal can be weird*^//^

I imagine that with all the various worlds that he's visited and the different incarnations that he takes on including the one we see most often, that if ladies did manage to get him bound that he might well be subjected to such treatment.
One more thought I had on the wolf that might fit is that perhaps he was from the realms of dream, an embodiment perhaps of the concept of the big bad wolf and a creature of nightmare whom had for a time crossed over to the waking world. As a creature of dream he'd be more or less immortal and immune to the weapons of man, tremendously strong and drawing power from the fears of humans. Though a creature of darkness, he was not evil and would not physically hurt a human and was in fact fond of them particularly young ladies. That was why he used such methods to draw the fear but at the same time expressing affection.
As a creature of nightmare whom drew strength from the fear of humans, the wolf could also be weakened by courage and determination which was how the two young ladies managed to overpower and bind him. Then through belly rubs, chin scratches, hugs and tickling they'd filled the wolf with such feelings of warmth and happiness that he was little more than just a big friendly dog whom nobody would fear. As a nightmare creature that would effectively cancel him out and he could no longer maintain his presence in the waking world and was banished back to the world of dreams.
The two young ladies though knew that there would be many other such nightmare creatures that could cross over and the wolf himself might return so they went on to become hunters of such creatures using the tried and true methods to bind and then banish everything from minotaurs to dragons and from trolls to manticores.

You're welcome.
Though it would be a different universe and character, looking back at a couple of your earlier artworks with K'Kruhk being bound by the Jedi younglings and Fennrer Valkodlak and Garwaff Bisklavret being captured by the Ewoks I did imagine you could perhaps have a similar scenario with the gentle giant Garwaff.
There could be one of the small out of the way worlds on the Outer Rim Territories where the Howling Cerberus perhaps made periodic stopovers or visited regularly during smuggling and where the Shistavanen had become fairly familiar and comfortable. While some of the local children might have been fearful at first, they'd perhaps over time taken to Garwaff once they'd realised he was a gentle giant.
When he'd got some time to kill Garwaff might enjoy playing with the children, one of the games being where he'd be the 'wolf monster' whom would chase and try and devour the children which would involve scooping them up in a hug and maybe wet doggy kisses.
The other part of the game would be the children trying to 'slay' the 'wolf monster', which would probably be a dozen or so of them managing to dogpile him, Garwaff letting them do so when he thought he'd 'devoured' enough children. He'd perhaps also let them bind him which might be good practice with the various scrapes the Howling Cerberus crew might find themselves in.
The 'wolf monster' would then be 'slain' with a combination of chin scratches, belly rubs and tickling, though you couldn't be sure that he might not spring back to life. The game perhaps continuing until it was time to get back to his crew and the children to return to their homes.

Haha. Excellent concept idea. Garwaff really would act like this. X3
BTW: Garwaff Bisklavret is based on the only gentle Werwolf in European folklore. Gerwalf Bisclavret. Here is the link with the infos:

I imagine that as well as in overall size and strength, Garwaff would be rather like Chewbacca or other Wookiees. He can be capable of being extremely ferocious when angered and is tremendously strong but far more likely if you got to know him that you might get a hug.
I had wondered if there was some inspiration from the Arthurian story and it's certainly an interesting one. There is the wulver from the folklore of the Shetland Isles, though the wulver while similar in appearance to a werewolf was never human.
Though I could imagine a Shistavanen living on the coast perhaps not too far from a settlement but preferring to keep to himself and more comfortable in the wilderness. While he did prefer to keep to himself and spend his days quietly fishing he would still look out for his neighbours, guiding people whom were lost back home or sharing some of his catch, otherwise helping out even if not wishing to spend time in the company of others. For a name maybe Ulvar Seltainn, from the wulver and adapting the Scottish Gaelic name Sealtainn for the Shetland Isles.

The idea for a Shistavanen settling near a lake or the sea, being a calm fisherman who would happen to help out others in need going by this name would make a great short story in a Star Wars comic. I believe the had allready used such a myth as a basic in a comic story, but I can not remember the title, but it was about a local american myth...
Hehe fun fact. In Norway a forname for boys is Ulfr or Ulf, which is sometimes used in northern Germany as well. It´s female counterpart is Ylva and both mean "Wolf" and "she-wolf"^^
Ulvar Seltainn is a great name to go with a Shistavanen. Inspiring.
Thanks much^^

With Star Wars you've got such a vast scope in scale both with twenty five thousand years or more of history and millions of worlds, there's room for many kinds of story. One of the things I like with the Howling Cerberus crew is the diversity of role and personality rather than the usual stereotype.
It's always interesting to learn about the meaning of different names and in this case where Ulfer Amarok and Ylva Waheela acquired their first names from.
I'm glad you liked my idea for the Shistavanen character.
Another possible scenario I thought of based on this picture was a light hearted mostly comedic anime series about high school girls acting as monster hunters.
Earth facing an invasion from another dimension of anthro wolfmen and other beastmen whom possessed tremendous strength and were virtually invulnerable and while not violent as such were extremely playful, overly affectionate and unaware of their own strength resulting in a great deal of property damage, accidental injuries and traumatised civilians.
The beastmen did have one weakness which could be exploited in that they would immediately become passive and lose all their strength when bound. In addition while almost impossible to kill or injure they were susceptible to light and gentle touches like being tickled or stroked. The final major weakness was an almost irresistible attraction towards young female humans becoming even more playful and affectionate around them.
The protagonist had learnt to exploit these weaknesses, hunting down or luring in the beastmen to wear down their strength with petting and tickling until they could bind and gag them to pacify them so they could be banished, while avoiding the perils of being hugged and licked along with keeping property damage to a minimum.

Hahaha Thanks much again for this inspirational comment. Such a comedy manga would be a hilarious thing to read, for there are some examples of similar stories like "The wolf and the college girl-pet".
There would be so much adorable stories to tell and to draw that one lifetime wouldn´t be enough to bring them all to life^^.
Thanks again for the compliment about my Shistavanen.
Most of their names are based on some myth or story that is related with wolves or werwolves.
Fennrer Valkodlak = Norse myth wolfmonster Fenrir, Vulkodlac - Vampire wolf monster from the Balkan region
Garwaff Bisklavret = Gerwalf Bisclavret from Marie de France´s story of the same title
Rashka Laloba = Mowglis wolfmother in the Jungle Book + La Loba = spanish or italian term for the she-wolf that raised Romulus and Remus, the mythical founders of Rome
Geri and Freki Uodanson = The wolves of Odin + Uodanson = son of Uodan (Uodan old german term for Wotan = Odin)
Ulfer Amarok = Ulfr Norwayan forname and Amarok is a giant wolf monster from Inuit folklore
Ylva Waheela = Ylva Norwayan forname and Waheela is a wolf listed in Cryptozoology and located in Canada and Alaska and mentioned to be the same creature like the Amarok
Péér Stupp = Peter Stüpp, the only known man in german history who was sentenced to death because of the crime to be a werwolf. + Stüpp is a ghostly werwolf in german folklore that jumps on his prey and force them to carry him for a certain time.
Îse Grimm = Isegrimm is the name of the wolf in Aesops fables
Those are the sources of the Shistavanen´s names in my story^^

I think I have come across that manga or a similar one possibly a slightly different translation of the title as 'The beast and his pet high-school girl', though it was a year or two back.
From the idea I had yesterday, my thought would be that the beastmen generally saw their invasion as a kind of game they were playing with the humans. If you were defeated, by being petted or tickled into submission and then bound so you lost your strength then you'd lost the game so when you were sent back through the portal then you were 'out' and didn't return.
This wolfman was looked down on by the other beastmen because they saw him as a cheat or sore loser in that he kept sneaking back to Earth, no matter how many times he'd gotten himself defeated. He was one of the least destructive, more interested in showing affection to people and he usually seemed to submit and let himself get tied up almost as soon as he was caught.
The wolfman's secret was that he actually enjoyed finding himself getting tied up and at the mercy of young ladies. Over time it might be realised he was essentially harmless so perhaps finally he might be allowed to stay on Earth and he'd end up more or less the team pet for the protagonists whom could practice their bondage techniques on him.
Thank you for the information on the sources for the Shistavanen names, particularly the Stupp and Amarok whom I'd not come across before.

Hehe who would blame such an affectionate wolfbeast to cheat to get back into the game to get tied up more often? I wouldn´t. And this would be a proper happy end for such a funny story.
Yes that was the title that is now used on the manga. I think I rade a different translation then^^ But this story was so adorable and funny^^
I looked up several mythological wolves to have good references for names for my Shistavanen. Amarok was unknown to me too until I saw the article on wikipedia.

I imagine that if Eternal was to visit that world he might have a burlier and fluffier version of his rat form perhaps like his Eternia self. Perhaps he would be running around committing such heinous crimes as stealing expensive cheeses and flirting with young women. Probably it would be noted that he didn't seem to lose any strength when petted or bound but rather enjoyed such treatment. Perhaps he might even admit he'd just paid a visit to this world for an enjoyable experience and thank them politely for their time.
I did remember there was some Irish folklore about werewolves of the old kingdom of Ossory and found the wikipedia article. I thought you might perhaps find it interesting.

Hehe this would be a fitting scenario fro Eternal to be in^^
And thanks for sharing the article. It was most interesting and another example how christian and pagan believes could merge to form awesome stories.
The Gaelic names would make fine names for Shistavanen.^^

There was another Irish werewolf called the faoladh or conroicht that I came across in this article and that I found interesting. Sometimes dangerous but also just as often perhaps benevolent and perhaps no better or worse than humans.

wow again a new werwolf myth I had no idea that it would exist.
And now I have got an explaination for this awesome song, that is about a girl that tries to comfort a lonely wolf named "Faolan"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQYDT7il9jM
defenitly inspired by this myth^^

There are a lot of interesting myths and stories from the folklore of Ireland and Scotland, though they're not always as well known.
The song was really quite beautiful so thank you for the link to the clip.
I did think of a possible dialogue for the picture.
Werewolf: No hard feelings, right? I mean it's not like I really hurt anyone.
First Girl: Uh, cut it out with the licks! You're not getting out of this.
Second Girl: You scared a lot of my friends. Some of them can't even look at a dog now without screaming in terror.
Werewolf: I'm sorry it's just...well it was just a bit of fun really and...guess I've got poor impulse control.
First Girl: We were going to kill you, just so you know. Well we only found some silver tableware and a silver candlestick.
Second Girl: You're so fluffy though it would just get tangled in all that fur and you've probably got a pretty thick skull.
Werewolf: Hey, I resemble that remark. Ughh...so you're just gonna tie me up then.
First Girl: About that, it was odd how you seemed to get so weak all off a sudden and all that yelping.
Werewolf: Well...uh, there was a rabbit I was chasing after...kind of pulled a muscle.
First Girl: Right in the lower part of the ribs, wasn't it?
Second Girl: Probably elsewhere as well. Anyway plenty of time to test all the spots.
Werewolf: You're not...oh come on, that's a little...silly don't you think.
First Girl: Says the 'Hug-Lap Monster'. You're just a big overgrown puppy so we'll treat you like one.
Second Girl: Yes, a big fluffy overgrown puppy dog.
Werewolf: Hey....mmmphh.
First Girl: There, quiet at last. Anyway, dogs love belly rubs don't they.
Second Girl: Lower part of the ribs and don't forget about the belly button.
First Girl: I certainly won't.
Second Girl: Oh my, those are some big paws.
First Girl: Why, yes they are...concentrate on the pads and let's make wolfy here wish we'd gone with the silverware.

There really are interesting myths I never have heard before. It is kind of unusual that Austria has no wolf or werwolf myths. Those are more coming from Germany. Austria tend more towards myths of ghostly dogs like the "Kreuzweghund" or the "Hoihoi". The first one is a ghostly dog that ambushes wanderers on crossroads and jumps on their back to force them to carry them for a while until they reach a crossroad that is guarded by a cruzifix. The second was originally a human farmer who was so greedy that he changed the places of so called "Rainsteine" stones that mark the borders bedween two properties of farming ground to increase his property. But after death his soul was locked to the place he had gained with his unruly behaviour without a chnace to leave this narrow space. He only could appear to wanderers as a howling dog at night.

Aside from the Irish werewolf myths and the Wulver in the Shetland Isles, it's much like that for mainland Britain in having almost no werewolf or wolf myths. Like Austria there are a lot of myths and folklore regarding ghost dogs particularly black dogs.
The wikipedia page gives a good overview of many of them and there are a lot of examples. Though rare there have been some reports of sightings even up to the modern day.

The myths of the Kreuzweghund and Hoihoi are particularly interesting so thankyou for sharing them.

Ah yes, ghostly dogs like the black shuck if I am correct, the Cu Sith, the shaggy dog and some more. I have seen the wikipedia entry and took some inspiration from that.
Britain is in some cases similar in its folklore like Austria, because the folklore is more tending towards elves, fairies and dwarves and dragons and some different breeds of kobolds.
I especially think about the Lutin, a kobold that is located in Austria and Italy, just as big as a 6 year old child, clothes in a red monk´s attire and with the head of a fox, a trickster like the japanese kitsune^^

I think the brownies would be the closest equivalents with the household kobolds and the Cornish knockers for those whom dwelled in mines, though as you said there's all manner or different fairies and dwarves.
Lutins are particularly interesting, I think perhaps closest might be the leprechauns. I think I also came across reference to them being known in France, though not sure if that might have been a different if similar variety.

Yeah that´s right. Brownies would have a german and Austrian equivalent named Heinzelmännchen or Wichtel. The knockers are known as Hämmerlinge in Austrian salt and iron mines.
True, the Lutin is also known in France, especially close to the border to Italy near the mediterranian sea. But I am sure they have a different name there^^

At least from what I read on wikipedia I think they're also called Lutins there though the pronunciation is different. It also seems they're known in Quebec and with a variant the Nain Rouge being a legend in Detroit.

That was really an interesting read. I never have heard of the Nain Rouge before, but it features blend in perfectly to the Lutin I know from my country´s folklore. It is much interesting how myths merged smoothly and how they traveled with the human beings arround the world creating new myths.
With all the migrations of various human cultures over thousands of years, it's certainly remarkable and fascinating.
The werewolf legends also made the journey to the USA as well with the Rougarou in Lousiana and in modern times there's been stories of werewolf or wolfman like beings like the Michigan Dogman and Beast of Bray Road.

Yeah that´s true. I never get enough of such stories and myths^^
The Bray Road Beast I have heard about, it was mentioned in a tv documentary about local myths in America. But the Michigan Dogman is new to me, I need to look him up^^
The Rougarou probably originates from the french Loup Garou. I wonder if the Rougarou merged somehow with the native Indian Wendigo, because it is sometimes depicted as a werwolf creature and wind spirit.

I wouldn't be at all surprised about that. I know with the wendigo there were many different variations amongst different tribes. Likely as well when Europeans arrived and heard of the native stories of such creatures they'd identify with their own stories so new beliefs are shaped and new myths and legends emerge.
Certain misconceptions existed regarding the hunting of werewolves and particularly the efficiency of silver bullets. They could hurt the beast and wound him but it took a lot of bullets or a vital area. Mostly you'd make him mad and then he'd be upon you in an instance. An angry werewolf could and would tear you apart in seconds.
Werewolves were predators but they'd much prefer deer or rabbits and would prefer to stay out of the way of humans. They were though very quick to respond to fear, anger or aggression and if you ran it could trigger the instinct to chase and aggression was responded to with aggression. Aside from this though they could be curious, affectionate and even playful and if you showed no fear and were peaceful then interaction was possible.
A hug from a werewolf can be surprisingly soft and comfortable if sometimes a little intense and they like to display affection with licking. They can though be surprisingly gentle in interactions with humans when approached correctly, knowing not to use their full strength in rough and tumble. They are also built more for short bursts of speed and strength and can tire more easily than humans, also reliant on panting to disperse excess heat.
Knowledge of the sweet spots can be useful, the belly, under the chin and behind the ears and if you can manage to reach them, also the paw pads. Any combination of scritches, strokes and tickling can eventually tire out a werewolf or swiftly make him completely docile. They will prove tolerant to being bound or gagged, or being led away and then can be released into a suitable habitat away from humans.
