Lilac loves being a part of modern society, but it can be difficult at times. With bodies that are part plant, common herbicides are extremely toxic to both her and Pern. With a little care and attention, Lilac keeps both herself and Pern safe and healthy. While she loves the manicured beauty that such chemicals allow, she has to enjoy them from a distance.

Unable to enjoy the local parks and trails, Lilac and Pern take to the deep woods on the weekend to get close to nature. Here, she can let Pern bound freely without worry. While Pern is many things, stealthy is not one of them. Though he bounds far ahead, looking for the perfect place for them to hang out, Lilac easily tracks him.

Finally catching up to Pern, Lilac looks around approvingly at the spot he has found for them. Sitting down and putting him in her lap, the two snuggle as they soak up the sights and sounds around them.
