My childhood family used to take us on vacations to a town in the mountains every year. We'd hike up the hills and look down at the town, admiring the sight, before returning and relaxing. On the drive to and from, we'd also see many cities in the distance off from the highway late at night, visible only due to their illumination. These memories stuck with me through childhood amnesia. Now, as an adult, I can finally share these experiences with those closest to me, my new family. The cities and mountains are different, but the wonder is the same, and there's romance in the air where there never was before. What a lovely night to exist within.
