Too bad you can't draw his voice! I'm told they sing in a fine tenor voice. I'm not sure I believe that, though, you know how these Westerners tell tall tales to mess with us ignorant tourists.
They are fine runners, though, and agile. The second time I saw one he was running down the road with a hoop snake. Damndest thing you ever saw-- the jackalope was jumping back and forth through the rolling hoop snake as they went down that road, just for fun I think. They're fast too!
It was high summer, so I never got to see a snow whale- they're all asleep in the summer of course. It's probably just as well. Jackalopes are irritable, hoop snakes are deadly poison, but it is the snow whale that is REALLY dangerous.
