This is interesting. My mom is raised Roman Catholic (though admittedly third-generation half-Irish), and she insists we have to wear orange for Halloween to show holiday spirit.

people loose so much when they take an adamant position. orange and green is actually a wonderful combination of colors. of course what it was really about was the well off of an impoverished country taking their questionably gotten gains and spending them elsewhere. the whole religious conflict aspect was to get recruits for conflict from both sides. of course too, long before there were any such things as catholics or protestants, there were the tuatha/milsians vs the indiginous 'fir bolg'
