ATHELLION, August. 07th. 2021
The glow of the evening sun fell flat on the rock formations of the floating mountains in Athellion. Huge shadows slowly moved towards each other through the unique landscape. Dark cloud formations whirled incessantly in the strong winds of the storm fronts and crashing lightning bolts curled up with their short shimmer. The rumble of thunder echoed far and from a distance a dragoness gazed at the throbbing outlines of the eternal thunderstorms.
Her purple eyes were attentive to the horizon and the two great storms. Dark gray scales covered her graceful body and darker stripes showed on her legs and wing arms. Her abdomen was markedly lighter and plate-like. The lateral transitions were defined with a purple shimmering line, which ran left and right over the entire length of the body to the tip of the tail. Her horns also created that purple sheen, which grew lighter towards the elegantly curved tips. Her elongated ears were carefully raised, as was her graceful fin comb, which stretched over her head and neck to between her shoulders. Purple blobs glistened on the fins, as well as on her back and flanks. She had narrow but strong paws with long and sharp claws, but the strong hind legs also indicated a good hunter. The inner surfaces of her paws were also this purple in color. The tip of her elongated tail looked like a fin and showed five black lines on both sides, which were surrounded by the violet color.
Calculating, she looked at the setting sun and lifted her head, a little out of breath. At the same time, she flapped her long wings briefly. The top was dark gray. But the underside sparkled like a breathtaking sea of stars, which seemed to move in undulating patterns. The violet shadow in it flickered with its magical glow and moved fluidly back and forth.
"Not good!" She muttered indistinctly to herself and shook her head with a snort as she pulled her wings close to her flanks again. Her gaze wandered uncertainly between the two storm fronts. "I should hurry." She noted, looking down quickly. A large scale-boar lay in front of her paws. It stared blankly at the sky, its throat was torn open, and the back scales plates burned. Her ears twitched briefly as she inhaled quickly. "I should get this thing home before the lines cross."
With heavy effort she dragged her big hunt on. The dragoness finally snorted heavily when she loosened her jaw from the neck of the scale-boar and gasped for air. The outer boundaries of the two storm fronts already entwined and sent strong gusts of wind over her head. "Damn! Well, that's it, with my meal plan for the next few days." She sighed angrily to herself and looked down at the boar. "I guess I'll have to leave you here." She noted, looking back at the darkening sky. The intersection of the storm fronts was already showing its effect and the thundering clouds expanded rapidly.
A bright flash of lightning crashed across the sky. Startled, she reflexively pulled her head down and hurried away from the animal. But after the first step she stopped unexpectedly. She had a strange feeling, which went like a fleeting shiver through her muscles. The dragoness looked uncertainly back at the storms. Something seemed different from what it usually was. She couldn't see what it was, but she felt a strange magical vibration from the thunderstorm. The violet markings of her body flickered on in a brief impulse, when at the same time a blazing bolt of lightning awoke in the sky. As if rooted to the spot, she stopped and watched the bright play of light intently. Three more flashes appeared shortly afterwards and contracted with the first to a blinding point. A deafening bang made her wince quickly and for a brief moment, a narrow floating crack opened, which gave off a gloomy reddish light. The thunder rushed over her head and she clearly felt this strong pressure wave on her scales. Indistinct movements showed behind the crevice in the stormy sea of clouds. These looked like huge wings, which pulled a silver-gray veil behind them. Another bang echoed heavily over her head and the crack was suddenly gone, as quickly as it had appeared. She could vaguely see something moving in the storm. Heavy raindrops flew in the wind and burst with a rustling sound on the ground and her scales.
With narrowed eyes she stared into the strong and wet wind direction and saw a dragon trying to keep a stable flight path in the storm with very awkward flaps of its wings. "What is this idiot doing there?" She thought to herself and at the same moment a blazing lightning flickered past his flank and plunged into the clouds. For a split second the outlines of a large dragon with long, spread wings shimmered over the dark fields behind him and a drift then drifted him strongly to the side in her direction. She could only briefly see his completely overwhelmed look as he was thrown upside down over her before he finally crashed into a thick tree trunk. His head hit hard, and he passed out.
The dragoness winced quickly and pulled her wings close to her flanks as the heavy thunder of more lightnings swept over her. The weather deteriorated rapidly and with quick steps she began to set out. But she stopped unexpectedly and looked at the fallen dragon. Her gaze shifted uncertainly to the gloomy horizon. In the distance she could already see and hear the heavy rain turning into a thundering hailstorm. Her eyes pressed tightly together, she shook her head briefly. "Ahhh! There isn't enough time for that!” She cursed inwardly.
