Definitely. Besides, "gold" does rather suggest shiny, otherwise it'd just be yellow. And the thick hide gets oiled to keep it soft so maybe on a smol dragon it'd be quite huggable?
Strictly speaking fire-lizards have a different forepaw configuration to the big one, but I'm not sure all the cover artists realised they HAVE forepaws, and it's like, only mentioned in one line in Dragonsdawn iirc. Meanwhile it seems like an interesting form to have!
