Made the mistake of drinking coffee before bed last night, and wound up being awake till 7:30 in the morning, WOOOHOO! Here is the product of that frustratingly-sleepless night: More Skyrim! I even made the effort to make a little story for it, since I've really been enjoying writing about these two on their romantic journey.
Really glad I did this before I started my art trades, since I wanted to do a little background experimenting (I'd say it looks good overall, yes?)
All that to say; I hope you enjoy <3
There's a few minor changes I might make this this later, but I dunno if I can be bothered yet, heh.
Between the Riften hold and mountain range of High Hrothgar, sheltered just under a ground of trees, sat an oddly-paired duo- a Khajiit archer and Imperial wizard, taking a break from their typical gallivanting. The mage sat at the base of one of the forever-autumn colored trees, thumbing through one of his books thoughtfully while his companion finished skewering the rabbit meat she had recently dressed, placing the sticks of meat near the fire to cook slowly.
The man took a glance over the top of the book at his friend, who looked satisfied with her kill, though was growing restless. He went back to the writing in his pages, expecting her to say something.
“Marcurio?”
“Yes, Hunter?”
“Would you be willing to teach me some magic?”
Oh.
Well, he wasn't expecting that exactly, but perhaps this would be a good opportunity...
“Perhaps. What would you like to know?”
“Well, I...I don't know exactly. Anything?”
He kept his gaze towards her, tilting his head in curiosity, but remaining patient.
“Like...what does it feel like to cast really high-level spells? Can you...show me?” she asked hopefully, and he smirked.
“Of course I can.” he set his book down and rose to his feet, and his companion eagerly did the same. “Follow me.”
“Where are we going?” she confusedly asked.
“Somewhere a little safer, of course. I don't really feel like putting out a whole field if you catch it on fire.”
The khajiit gave him a puzzled look, but trotted off after him enthusiastically.
A few minutes later, and the two had reached the treeline of the Rift, the beautiful wall of foliage greeting them with warm welcome.
“Just down here.” the mage led them to a small pond, not even bothering to remove his boots as he stepped into the cold water, turning to beckon the female in with him.
“What's the point of the water?”
“Shouldn't that be obvious?” he said with a small laugh, “In case you can't dispel the fire, you can just submerge your hands. Come...” he extended a hand
“You're gonna actually show me?” she beamed excitedly, taking his hand and stepping with bare feet into the brisk liquid alongside him.
“Of course. I don't get my shoes wet for just any reason. Now....” he moved them backwards into the water a little more before stopping. “The first thing to know, is you need to start with beginner level spells. Your magicka pool with grow larger as you use it more, like a muscle, and fire is one of the easiest things to manipulate, and drains magicka very little.”
He held an arm out, and easily summoned flames to his palm, rotating and bidding it to flow as he wished before he dispelled it.
“Milady, if I may have consent to touch?” he politely requested.
“Oh? Uh, sure?” she gave him a sly look, “But nothing funny, mister, or you'll regret it.”
“I don't doubt it.” he agreed, humored.
“So, magicka tends to build here...” he placed a finger to her belly, just underneath her naval, “..and with enough focus, you can direct it here...” he trailed his hand upwards, just underneath her sternum, though was respectful of the motion. “When you feel it there, you can focus it in these directions,” he brushed fingers from both hands along her collarbones towards the shoulders, “...and from there, you will the spell to manifest in your hands.”
“For practiced mages like myself, it's as easy as breathing. However, don't feel bad if you can't get it on the first attempt. I do make it look easy after all.”
“Pffft, suuuure you do.”
“Now, you try, and I'll help guide you through it.” he said, going to stand behind her and guiding her arms with his hands. He realized that he was probably closer to her than really necessary, but he tried to keep a respectable distance nonetheless.
“Is this...too close for your comfort?”
“No, I don't mind it. I trust you.”
What a relief! Nothing ruined a day quite like getting shin-kicked by an angry woman...or so they said.
“Okay, good. Now; close your eyes, and focus where I showed you.”
Eyes closed, the archer took a calming breath, focusing where her friend had told her, and allowed the stirring feeling to build upwards.
“Okay, and then out to the shoulders...” she muttered for him to hear her progression.
“Bring your arms this way to encourage the movement.” his hands were gentle as they moved her smaller wrists around, showing her the ways to move. “And then, when you feel the mana in your fingertips, you'll want to summon it. It'll feel like this...” he trailed off, using his own magicka to build off of hers, and allowing her flames to burn freely in their palms.
“Hmph, I'm impressed. You actually did something on your first try- for once.” he'd meant it as both a compliment and attempt at humor, but she was right in step.
“Well, you're dealing with the Dragonborn, after all. I can do anything if I really put in the effort. This is pretty easy- let's do something harder, like a master-level spell!”
“Oho, easy? Well, if you say so.” he raised an eyebrow, and couldn't help but smile as he started to withdraw his hands from the flames. “We'll do that after you dispell those first.”
“Wait, what? No, but- Marcurio wait!” she held up her hands helplessly, trying to keep the hungry fire from licking anything flammable.
“What's that, Hunter?! I didn't hear you over how awesome your scaly hide is?” he laughed, having started hurriedly moving back toward camp. “Guess I'll have to eat all of that rabbit by myself. That's really too bad, I was looking forward to sharing it with you!”
He turned to wait for his companion, letting out a startled yelp when she came running at him with a wild smile, reaching for him with still-flaming hands.
“OH NO YOU DON'T! Nobody eats dinner without me!”
“Milady, I wouldn't dream of it!”
The duo laughed, racing back to their makeshift camp and 'fighting' the whole way.

Not only is this one of your better pictures, but this is such a strong showing of your writing ability honey. Again, I genuinely believe you're a better writer than me >~>
Even your concepts, running to a pool to practice fire magic... It's so practical and believable, yet creative as I would imagine that wouldn't immediately cross some writer's minds. And the physical contact and playful banter between these two...you really know how to come up with good character interactions. I love you honey and I'm blessed to be married to someone with such talent.

Nope!
By this point, she’s been making sure it stays a secret, as she’s grown to like having the company of someone else and is afraid that he would, very understandably, NOT want anything to do with her if he found out.
He’s aware that shes hiding something from him, but he’s ruled out vampire, so he’s not terribly worried what it could be. He’s also been trying to keep a professional boss/employee relationship between the two of them despite his romantic interest, so that’s kept him from prodding for info, too...at least so far.
