March 31st was Todd's birthday, so Yumi wanted to surprise him with something special. When he came home from the store that day, he saw his wife was missing and a note was on the counter from her. Following the instructions, he went up to the top of Signal Hill, looking for her. When he reached the top, he was surprised to see her all dolled up, wearing her pretty dress and the veil she wore on her wedding day. She also had set up a picnic blanket, and a baskets of assorted fruits, sandwiches, his favorite brand of Newfoundland beer, and she was holding her homemade chocolate cream pie she made him every year for his birthday.
"Happy Birthday, my wonderful hubby!" She exclaimed.
The rest of the evening they drank, ate, and enjoyed each others company. It may have seemed like a simple gift, but to Todd, spending time with his wife was the best gift he could ever ask for β€β€β€
