well a lot of studios take on apprentices (that's how i have trained) to do these kinda of things, collages offer courses in glass and ceramics, there are a few options. So! Check your local area and phone book. Never know what you might find. If you do have any other questions, PM me!
the local community collage i believe offers it but its a bring your own supplies and i think after all was said and done it would of cost more in supplies then it would of for the actual course so i never i did it XD but finding some one who is looking for a apprentice should be easy i think LOL
I was actually arguing happily with a co-worker that the pattern could be done, as the swirl pattern (called feathering) throws off any large round openings, like Bowls or plate rims. I was glad it worked so well and my co-worker laughed in the end, so it worked out!
