There's a patch of Bluebells out by the tree in my backyard, and they're out in force today.
This photo took a lot more effort than I thought it would, but I believe it's well worth the effort.
Part of this is because this is from my Pentax *istD DLSR, a camera I seriously don't like using because it takes far longer to save the files to the CF card than taking them does, but also the colour I usually get out of it isn't all that great.
This time, I used its automatic exposure bracketing mode, which results in three different photos every time I click the shutter button. They were still a bit too dark, so I preprocessed them by brightening them up a bit in Gimp, then saving them in a separate folder for the Exposure Blend extension for Gimp I found a while ago. Using the Exposure Blend extension means I have to open the three different files separately, but allows me to manually align the different exposures (took a bit to figure out how that works, but I got there in the end), fiddle with things a bit, then flatten the entire image, crop it a bit for better framing, tweak the colours, and this is the final result.
I took quite a number of photos today, so look out for a few more in the coming days. Though, given that this is primarily a furry art site, I may not post everything here. Look on my DevianArt page for everything I post.
