Aiden the Cinderace acquires the power of the Easter Bunny's foot. He can create magical rabbit holes to anywhere, as long as he keeps eating carrots. Without carrots, he'll turn into a chocolate bunny. But what if carrots get a little too hard for him to find?
Through a forest in the Galar region walked a Cinderace named Aiden. He was your average Cinderace all things considered. He just happened to be a little Quick Tempered, which usually resulted in him backpedaling Bashfully after doing whatever he did in his moment of hot-headedness. On this particular day, however, things were all calm in the rabbit’s life as he strolled through the forest. Things would quickly change the moment he came upon an odd looking sign staked into a small clearing ahead of him.
Curious, Aiden approached the sign and saw that it was standing next to a strange depression in the ground. It was about an inch deep, and was shaped exactly like a Cinderace’s right foot.
This really caught Aiden’s attention, and he bent his knees so that he was level with the sign that was around half his height. He then read:
“To whomever reads this sign and whose foot can fit perfectly within this footprint, a wondrous magical gift awaits you! Upon placing your foot within this footprint, you will receive the mystical power of the Easter Bunny! Namely, you will be able to create magical rabbit holes that will take you anywhere in the world that you can imagine. Simply tap the ground with your right foot twice while thinking of a location, and a rabbit hole will open up leading straight to that location, and close behind you. Be warned, however, that if you do not specifically think and focus on a definite location, the hole will lead you to a completely random location. Also, this magical power has a steep price you must remember. If you take this power, then you must consume 1 carrot every 2 hourss. Be warned that timeframe can become as small as 5 to 10 minutes due to the repeated creation of magical rabbit holes in rapid sucession, as well as factors such as extreme temperature changes, stress-level, use of Pokemon moves, etc. If you do not consume 1 whole carrot during the adjusted time frame, you will turn into a chocolate bunny. If this risk seems worth it to you, feel free to enjoy this wondrous and very useful power!”
Aiden read the bizarre message twice, then frowned and blew a loud raspberry at the sign. He then stood up tall, swung his right foot back, and landed a Blaze Kick on the sign, smashing into embers that quickly died out. Immediately after doing this, Aiden shrank back a bit and bashfully looked around to make sure no one saw him perform the act of destruction. Once certain he was alone, Aiden enjoyed a cloud chuckle at the whole business, and then directed his attention to the footprint.
Wearing a bucktoothed grin, Aiden confidently raised his right foot and wedged it down into the footprint, where it fit snugly. Aiden laughed a bit more, and then he made his ears go floppy and held his paws together in front of his chest.
“Doo-dilly, doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, doo-doolly!” He sang out goofily with wide eyes as he bounced his body around in what he felt was a pretty good mock imitation of the Easter Bunny. Aiden then laughed and rolled his eyes, and went to continue on his way when discovered that his right foot wouldn’t come out of the footprint.
Pouting, Aiden grabbed his right leg with both paws and pulled as he planted his left foot behind him. When that didn’t work, Aiden growled and swung back his left foot and swung a Blaze Kick right into the back of his own right leg. The force of the attack freed his foot, but flipped Aiden backwards and upwards. However, Aiden managed to land smoothly on his left foot with no issue. As he stood on leg, Aiden took the chance to study his right foot. He flexed his toes a bit, seeing no difference whatsoever. He then put the foot down next to the other, and then, in a show of defiance, stomped his right foot twice.
Aiden closed his eyes, nodded, and stepped forward.
Aiden’s left foot felt nothing, and Aiden opened his eyes just in time to find himself walling down into a large hole in the ground that had opened up in front of him. Aiden’s scream echoed loudly in the hole until it magically sealed itself behind him, leaving only a single red tulip behind.
*
Seconds later, in the Crown Tundra, a hole opened up in the snow. Then, a terrified Cinderace was flung upwards out of the hole while screaming. The hole then closed up, and Aiden fell back down and face planted in the cold snow.
Aiden slowly lifted his head up out of the snow, and his eyes widened as he beheld the white out conditions all around him as the sounds of the howling winds of the blizzard rang through his ears. Aiden jumped up to his feet and looked all around him, scarcely able to believe where he was. Aiden lifted his right foot and stared at it in amazement. However, this feeling was overshadowed by the intense cold all around him, and Aiden hugged himself for warmth as his teeth chattered and his body trembled violently. Aiden sniffled and his ears hung low as he fearfully looked around for some was out of this.
Then, his ears shot up straight as Aiden’s attention was brought back to his right foot. Aiden smiled, his eyes lighting up as he realized how obvious the solution was. Aiden laughed happily, and brought his paws together and back to his chest again.
“Doo-dee-doo, doo-dee-doo, doo-dee-doo-doo-doo, doo!” He sang playfully with that wide eyed, goofy expression. Then, he sighed and raised his right foot a bit higher and then stomped it down in the snow. Then he lifted his foot again, and right as he brought it down again, there was a loud whoosh as a wall of icy wind blew by, frosting the Cinderace over completely.
Aiden stood frozen in a centimeter thick layer of ice, stuck standing on one foot with his right foot in mid-stomp. A giddy smile was stuck on Aiden’s face as frosty breath puffed out of the holes over his orange-red nose. His eyes darted around nervously.as he tried to move his body. Aiden huffed, and his eyes zeroed in on his right raised foot. He focused on it, and willed the spots on the underside of it to heat up. The ice on his foot started to drip, and soon it melted off completely, letting out wisps of steam.
Aiden sighed from within the ice as he wiggled his toes. He then focused on his left foot as he heated it up, causing the snow beneath him to melt. While reaching forward with his right foot, Aiden rocked back and forth on his left foot until he finally fell forward, his right foot solidly hitting the ground.
A hole opened up beneath the frozen rabbit, and he fell down through it. The whole close up behind him, leaving a lone red tulip sticking up out of the show.
*
Next to a large crater, a hole appeared and spat out the frozen Cinderace. Aiden shot up towards the crater and fell headfirst into a large lake of lava. As he fell, the ice around him quickly melted and shattered, and Aiden flailed about in a panic as he fell towards the molten rock. He managed to flip himself over so that he was falling feet first, and landed atop the molten rock with his left foot.
Aiden cried out as he hopped across the surface of the lava on his foot, his strong legs allowing him to make large leaps across the fiery surface towards a large boulder sticking up out of the lava.
Aiden landed on the relatively cool boulder and sat down quickly. He whimpered as he carefully nursed his left foot. Being a Fire-type, being in brief contact with lava wasn’t deadly to him, and his foot would heal rather quickly. However, he was still a flesh and blood bunny and would absolutely die if he fell into a pool of lava and sank into it.
Aiden looked up and realized that the boulder he was sitting on was right in the middle of the volcano, meaning not even he could jump out of it. Aiden then noticed that the boulder was slowly sinking, much to his horror.
Aiden jumped to his feet and looked around fearfully, then he looked down at his right foot. Aiden gulped, took a deep breath, and thumped his right foot twice. A new hole opened up, and Aiden casually stepped down into it. It closed up behind him, leaving another red tulip.
*
In a lovely green meadow, a hole opened up, and two white ear tips popped up out of it. Aiden then raised his head and looked around, and smiled at the sight of the trees, grass, and flowers around him. Aiden cheerfully hopped out of the hole, and laughed as it sealed up like it was never there to start with.
Now in good spirits, Aiden jumped for joy and pumped his fist victoriously. Then, with a giddy look on his face, Aiden put on his goofy, wide eyed, smiling face and hopped from side to side, his paws together and at his chest again.
“Doo-doo-dee-doo, doo-doo-dee-doolly-doolly-doolly! Doodly, doodly, doodly-doo!” He sang as he wiggled his ears and hopped with his feet close together. He stopped to wiggle his tail cutely, only to discover that he couldn’t feel it move at all. In fact, his tail felt completely numb.
Disturbed by this, Aiden twisted his body around to take a look at his tail, and his pupils shrank in horror when he saw that his tail had been turned completely into solid milk chocolate.
The details of the sign came back to Aiden in full, and his chest heaved up and down as his heart pounded. He fearfully looked around, frantically sniffing the air for the slightest trace of a carrot. Then, as soon as it came, Aiden’s panic faded as he chuckled and waved a paw nonchalantly. With a toothy grin, Aiden tapped his right foot twice while thinking of carrots. Lots of carrots. More carrots than he could ever imagine.
A rabbit hole opened up in front of him, and Aiden laughed as he rubbed his paws together greedily before jumping down into the hole, which again sealed behind him with a red tulip.
*
Aiden hopped out of the hole and into a room that was pitch black, much to his surprise. Confused, Aiden peered into the darkness, his nose twitching as he searched in vain for the tell tale scent of a carrot. Strangely enough, he couldn’t smell any greenery at all.
He took a few steps forward, and his eyes bulged as his right foot struck something hard and heavy, stubbing all of his toes at once.
Aiden screamed out in pain as he hopped backward on his left foot, holding his right foot in his paws as his toes throbbed in pain. Then, lights flashed on and a loud siren assaulted his ears. Aiden’s ears went down fast as he flinched against the piercing shriek of the alarm, and he blinked his eyes to get used to the new light level. Before him stood not carrots, but a huge stockpile of 24 karat gold bars.
Aiden realized that he needed to get out of there, so he bit his lip as he let go of his throbbing foot and painfully thumped it twice on the floor. He fell down the hole that opened, leaving only another red tulip behind.
*
Aiden hopped out of the hole and looked around to see that he was once again indoors in low light. This location wasn’t as dark as the gold vault, and he could make out his surroundings.
The room was filled with long glass cases with various precious gemstones inside.
Aiden pouted and sniffed contemptuously, but his sniffing caught the growing scent of chocolate. He looked down and saw that the source of the scent was his torso and midsection, which were now completely chocolate just like his tail.
Aiden cried out and stumbled backwards, only to pass through an infrared laser beam, triggering the security system. The lights went on and another alarm sounded, causing Aiden to jump in fright.
Aiden stood paralyzed and confused for a few moments as he fought to get grip after seeing his chocolatey body. He was snapped out of his reverie when two police officers burst into the jewelry store with their guns drawn.
Aiden froze in fear at first, then put on a goofy smile and bopped his head with his paws held together at his chest in a cute manner.
“Doodilly-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, doo-dilly?” he sang innocently.
When the officers didn’t put down their guns, Aiden sighed and put his arms up in resignation, while he nonchalantly tapped his right foot twice. The rabbit hole opened, and he fell straight down, leaving only another red tulip behind for the officers.
*
Aiden popped out of the hole, and his face fell when he saw that he was in what appeared to be a diamond mine and surrounded by angry, territorial Carbink.
Frowning deeply, Aiden tapped his right foot twice again while focusing on big orange carrots. He raised his paws as if to fight the 20 Carbink before him. He went into a fighting pose, crying out like a ninja as he moved his arms around, then with a brief “hiyah!” he jumped backward with a kick, and then down into the hole, leaving the Carbink with a red tulip.
*
Aiden was flung out of the whole awkwardly due to his kicking position, and ended up landing flat on his face. He lifted his head and shook it, only to realize that his ears were rigid and unmoving. He looked up and gasped when he saw they were now made of chocolate. He then looked himself over and saw that the only parts of him not made of chocolate were his arms, legs, and face.
However, his horror was abated when he looked at what was in front of him. There, in all its green and orange glory, was an absolutely massive carrot that was at least as big as him.
Tears came to Aiden’s eyes at its beauty, and he hopped up onto his feet and bunny hopped over towards the lovely image of the carrot. Aiden licked his smiling lips as he spread his arms wide open as he closed the final distance. He closed his eyes and opened his mouth as he prepared to take a bite.
Everything stopped for Aiden when he ran face first into something hard, solid, and flat. He peeled his face off and took a good look at the giant carrot, and quickly realized that it was just a very realistic painting of a carrot on the smooth wall of a building.
Aiden’s mouth hung open, his lip trembled, then he let out a cry of rage as he sprang straight up into the air. He came down hard on both feet and furiously stomped at the ground many times in quick succession. Then, Aiden broke right through the ground, and it closed up behind him, this time, not with a red tulip, but with a leafy green carrot top.
*
The middle aged farmer, complete with overalls and straw hat, was loading the last bushel of carrots into his truck and was about to drive to market when he heard a strange sound behind him. He turned around and saw, much to his surprise, a life sized chocolate Cinderace with a living face. The man didn’t know what was weirder, the state of the Pokemon in itself or the fact that it just seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Aiden whimpered and wiggled his nose in the direction of the carrots in the back of the man’s truck.
Too dumbstruck by this scenario to even process what he was doing, the man instinctively grabbed one of the carrots and held it out to the Cinderace.
Aiden whimpered some more and made his eyes as big, sad, and pitiful as he could.
With no idea of where this was going, the man walked forward as if in a daze and put the pointy end of the carrot into Aiden’s mouth. Aiden quickly munched away at the carrot, swallowing as he bit and chewed, until he had finally reached the green stem and leafy top part, which her quickly slurped up and ate as well.
Right after finishing the carrot, Aiden’s chocolatey body began to tremble violently and crack. Then, with a loud whoosh, all of the chocolate shattered to bits, revealing a normal Cinderace body underneath.
Aiden laughed and shed tears of joy as he hugged his boys and hopped around. “YES! YES! I’M FREE! I’M FREE! I’M FREE! I’M FREEEEEEEEEEEE!”
“You can talk!?” the farmer cried out in amazement.
Aiden froze at this and blinked. The sign didn’t say anything about him being able to speak human language, but it had mentioned the Easter Bunny, and he assumed the Easter Bunny could speak human. It was that chain of thought that gave Aiden an ingenious idea.
Aiden turned back to the farmer, his eyes noting that large supply of carrots in the man’s truck alone, and said with a sly, confident grin and a twinkle in his eyes, “Of course I can talk. After all. . .I. . .am the Easter Bunny.”
“. . .Hop in,” the farmer said in awe as he motioned to his truck.
