"As you go through life you'll see
There is so much that we
Don't understand
And the only thing we know
Is things don't always go
The way we planned
But you'll see everyday
That we'll never turn away
When it seems all your dreams come undone
We will stand by your side
Filled with hope and filled with pride
We are more than we are
We are one
If there's so much I must be
Can I still just be me
The way I am?
Can I trust in my own heart
Or am I just one part
Of some big plan?
Even those who are gone
Are with us as we go on
Your journey has only begun
Tears of pain, tears of joy
One thing nothing can destroy
Is our pride, deep inside
We are one
We are one, you and I
We are like the earth and sky
One family under the sun
All the wisdom to lead
All the courage that you need
You will find when you see
We are one."
-We Are One from Simba's Pride Soundtrack
As hokey as it sounds, this song really fits this couple, I think. Trade with with emira of her Dark Jedi character, Ji, the cougar based Cathar, and her husband's disillusioned Jedi wolf, Seth, shortly after their wedding on Ji's home planet of Cathar. I made up the little kitty/fennec/primate thingy on Ji's shoulder. There's not really that much out there about the planet Cathar, but I tried to make it believable and pretty. That's the fun of the Star Wars universe. Plenty of room for your own spin on things and imagination.
Seth is the property of Kengi.
Ji is the property of emira.

Absolutely gorgeous! Hmm, the best refs I've seen for Cathar came from one of the Knights of the Old Republic comics, showing the Cathar Jedi Knight Sylvar in a blood hunt on her homeworld. It only showed the veldt part of the world, though. This was after the fall and banishment of Ulic Qel Dromma, not long before Vima Sunrider tracks him down and pesters him to train her.
Actually....as per Star Wars Galaxies, the shoulder-kitty actually has a canon counterpart! A Bearded Jax was a fairly common pet to see around, until they did away with the beast training class, then brought it back at a shadow of its former glory
as to the pic, yaay prettiness!

I had read about the Jax and knew that they had several different subspecies/breeds, but I didn't know if there was one that was small enough to fill the role of a regular cat. Hmmm, nice to know...and thanks. Now I have an idea for a picture of some of the characters doing that class....poor ObiWanz, I will torture him with the Jax from Hell...he'll get the one that attaches to his face and proceeds to scratch the daylights out of him because I'm mean like that.
Thanks so much for the info and the compliment!

and hey, maybe for anyone else, it's one of those marshmallow snuggle-kitties that you can cuddle like a stuffed animal and it just goes limp, and purrs at you. It's just evil, and hates teh Obi-Wanz :D (sabercats, meanwhile, which are the size of a horse, probably are too far in the OTHER extreme. They snuggle HIM like a stuffed animal)
You know I'd trade with you any day of the week though. I love drawing your characters cause you put so much depth into them. This piece is just indescribably stunning though and I cannot wait to hang it up. I think it and the one
luthien_nightwolf did will go beautifully together.

As usual, what black and white sketching makes distinct and definite, color makes brilliant.
The expressions tell a lot about their relationship. It's like the happiness of the wedding is being counter-balanced by the weight of everything else they'll have to deal with.
Worth it in the end, though. Well done.

I'm so glad you like it. I was promised by emira that story tiemz for this would be finished soon, as she is writing it, and posted to her gallery. So, since I know you like our nerdly star wars nerdery, keep an eye out on her page, if you'd like! I'm so honored you like it!
*grins*
I like it. A Dark Jedi and a Jedi together. Certainly an unusual combination, but it works in this pic. Hard to believe this is- if I'm remembering right, the same character we saw Wielder facing off with in one of your other pics. She looks surprisingly peaceful here.
I give it two thumbs up.

Which book?
We talking a Star Wars book here, or we talking about the one I sent you? If the latter, thanks! Would love some feedback about what you liked or didn't like in it ^.^ If the former, what title, so I can go hunts it down. I just picked up Omen. It's like the first ABY book I've picked up since the Thrawn Trilogy (and I only have that cause it's been in my bookcase since I was like 6 or so and I just never got around to reading those books no matter how much I keep meaning to. I do have both novelizations of Force Unleashed though.

I have so many comments I have to catch up on leaving on your arts as well as other peoples, I will probably start to go numb, so if I start rambling and making no sense, or else start sounding disjointed, that's why. Or, you've talked to me IRL enough times now to know that it might just me being...uh...me. Pffftt...
Anyway, this turned out beautiful. You always do such a wonderful job of being able to incorporate such highly detailed backgrounds without losing the characters in them. I think some of my favorite parts are the textures and patterns in Ji's clothing, and how well you got the texture and sheen of Seth's hair to blend together so nicely. Once again, all your marker work is so nicely blended while still looking so striking and vibrant.

Being way too detailed in everything I put into a picture was one of the things that my advanced drawing teacher warned me of. I'm trying to heed her lessons...even though I think she was batshit crazy...she had a point. So thanks, I'm really glad that I'm starting to get better about that.
Girl, don't you worry 'bout your rambling...you've seen how insane some comments on here can get...
