Elf Slayers"By the will of the hunt, death comes to the invader. By the will of our gods, we shall bring death to the foe. Just as their flesh and skin toiled to destroy us, so shall we use their flesh and skin in holy construction." -Elf Slayer's OathThe elves came up with the slur 'Roach Men' to describe the nefarious Roasarch when they invaded their realm, and ever since the Roasarch have been a thorn in their side. In those wars, a group of warrior formed an unbreakable bond, bound by a powerful lich who commanded them they scoured the fields for elvish weapons and forged clothes and armor from their hides, becoming first Elf Slayers. As the name would suggest, the elf slayers are trained in the arts of slaying elves whose nimble approach to warfare needed to be matched. Although few in number, a few elven soldiers could easily cut down a group of Roasarch soldiers, so the elf slayers used ambushes and magic to gain the upper hand against their foes. These slayers have long been feared by elvenkind, for their brutality and experience has made them legends.
Elf Slayers have many dark traditions, living in warrior lodges in the main Roasarch cities. In order to train to be an elf slayer, one must join their hive mind and abandon all previous obligations and responsibilities. In some more prestigious orders, the warriors permanently blind themselves to show fealty to their cause to the focus on their skills. Elf Slayers train to study the maneuvers of elven soldiers, to lay in swamps for long periods to ambush their rangers, and to use dangerous enchanted weapons to maintain their edge over their foes. Elf Slayer weapons are forged with lich blessed curses, which ignite into dark and foreboding flames which rend and dissolve flesh as the strike of a single warrior is meant to quickly cripple their enemies. Elf Slayers take mages into their ranks, who become warrior wizards in their own right to lob spells and dispel the magic of elven enchantments to better aid their maneuvers.
Yet, of their most despised traditions, is the tradition of murder. To come of age in an Elf Slayer order, they must drag an elf before a lich and ritualistically kill them. Often, they must do this alone, with limited help from their comrades who watch them to make sure they do it rightly. The slain elf's flesh and bones is then grafted into the armor and weapons of the elf slayer, with many taking the skulls of their murdered victims as trophies. While such murders were once easier when they were surrounded by elven colonies, the Rosari still maintain elven populations in their lands, which the Elf Slayers hunt for religiously. Although despised and considered the most gruesome of all of the Roasarch, many Elf Slayers retain their own twisted chivalric codes, and often will not slay those who are too young or had aided the Roasarch in the past.
