I wasn't a weeb kid like ALLA YOU SONSABITCHES. I was raised primarily on classic Disney movies and a handful of, for reasons beyond me, Hungarian VHS tapes with shitty English dubs. That said, Ginga Nagareboshi Gin was the first anime I stumbled across - people who left their kids unattended on early YouTube, I hope you're ready to pay out the ass for therapy - and I was drawn to it because it was about talking cartoon doggies... who constantly murk each other, as well as the scariest bears I've ever seen. No 9 year old should be watching GNG, but I did at that age, and I don't regret it. It's been my lifelong love, the only anime I really give a shit about, and it's even a great tool for self-motivation. If this traumatized little puppy can end a mini-kaiju's regime, you can do anything.
