Kat and I were starting to get used to our lives in Hisui, especially after we completed our task of quelling Kleavor's fury and helping the townsfolk out. But our adventures were just beginning as we got a task of exploring a brand new area, and gathering data of even more Pokémon by catching them and writing down notes for the Pokédex.
During our adventures, we had some pretty eventful battles... including against a Pokémon that would end up becoming another companion we befriended. Ursaluna. I remember it well because that fateful battle was where our starters Whisper (Kat's Cyndaquil), and Oshawott ended up evolving into Quilava and Dewott respectively.
Soon though... we eventually got word from the Galaxy Corps that another Noble Pokémon had gone into a frenzy, and it would be our job to help calm it down! Luckily with some help from members of both the Diamond and Pearl clans we helped before, they managed to create the special balms that could calm the Nobel Pokémon down. It would be left to Kat and I though since we were outsiders, and no one else was allowed to interfere.
Once we climbed to the top of the hill where the Noble Pokémon is sighted to be seen... we were confronted by her. Hisuian Lilligant.
This battle was not like when we battled Kleavor, especially since she was capable of creating shockwaves on the ground we had to dodge! But it just felt easy for us to get the rhythm and throw the balms at her to help. But then... she actually turned to deliver a powerful kick to Dewott and I! I knew that Dewott had a type disadvantage to Grass types, so I went to protect him while holding one of the balms within my hand... ready to take her kick.
But it never came, and I looked up to see a familiar claw blocking the kick... Never did I expect it would be my Ride Ursaluna protecting me when I didn't even call to him with my flute! Yet I worried for him when remembering the types via research notes. I was still stunned though. How was a Normal/Ground type able to block an attack from a Grass/Fighting regional variation, and yet still be standing!? Must be very tough if he wants to protect us.
Luckily with what's been happening to me, Kat and Whisper managed to find an opening! And I could swear Kat commanded Whisper to use Flame Wheel: Strong Style to do extra damage and hopefully make Hisuian Lilligant stunned so we can throw the balms again.
Even if this kind of Pokémon battling is intense and dangerous, I know both Kat and I, as well as our Pokémon will work together to pull through!
(Think this battle was very epic? Elegant? Or both?)
