Abilities: Surge possesses the abilities of a typical speedster, but he needs to be positive to maintain them, and the more positive he is, the stronger his abilities are.

Weaknesses: If Surge begins to fall into a negative mindset, his powers will lock up, rendering him a normal person. He also needs to keep up a caloric intake for his body to have the energy to run with his powers.

Personality: Pierre is quite sociable and friendly, able to make friends fairly easily, and also knows how to wow crowds fairly well. He enjoys collecting antiques, especially ones he finds from his two jobs of being an acrobatic handyman and part-time as a free-lance janitor, his favorite part of his collection is a walkman that may or may not have supernatural properties to it. He also loves anything mango-flavored, especially sodas. As a superhero, he believes in the good of everyone, even if they might not seem to have any good in them. His catchphrase: "Positivity is power!"

Background: Pierre lived a fairly normal life, though as normal as one can be. He learned some manner of acrobatics from a young age, which carried over fairly well into his adult life, using those skills to great effect as a handyman and janitor-for-hire.

It was on a job for the latter that he did not see the odd experiment being carried out by Willamette City's resident mad scientist, Dr. Eli Mentyl. The experiment started to backfire before outright going out of control, exploding in the process.

Pierre was too busy listening to a rather loud song playing in his ears from his beloved Walkman and thus did not realize what was happening until it was too late. The experiment went off, hitting the canine with the blast. But instead of perishing, Pierre found he was okay, in fact, he felt better than ever. He noticed the doctor trapped under some debris knocked free by the explosion, closing the distance in a mere second before realizing he now possessed superpowers!

Dr. Mentyl ran scans on the canine's body, informing him of what powers he obtained before offering to make Pierre a costume in case he would like to put those powers to use somehow. Pierre accepted, receiving the costume he now wears with positive pride as the superhero Surge!

Since donning the costume and mantle, he has become a celebrity hero renowned across the nation, and even the world! He takes frequent stops along his runs, taking photos with the people he meets, giving them souvenir gifts, and donating proceedings from these sorts of events to various charities. He also runs a travel blog where he takes photos of locations he's been to.
