A bored King Herb after he's finished smashing all his enemies and there is nobody left to smash anymore!
So... this is a highly frustrating one for me. I actually finished this a long time ago, and never posted it because I'm not happy with the finished result. This drawing is one of those cases where I actually liked it better before doing the line work and just having my lighter sketch lines. I can't even put my finger on -why- I like the sketch version more, I just do, and I feel like the line work on this one has just ruined it, even though I know this is still a pretty decent looking drawing. I think the problem I have is he looks less bored in this one, and more sad, where in the sketch version he looks bored to me, and I'm not sure how that emotional change happened in doing the linework. I even tried to fix it a few times, but failed to do so, hence why this drawing sort of languished unposted for a while. I might post the sketch version in my scraps section on this site, so you all can see it.
This linework issue now also has a lingering fear in me that is affecting the current drawing I'm working on. I drew something last night that is pretty much completely done except the line work (Yeah I do color, and sometimes even shading before the line work), and I think it looks -really- great, and I'm afraid the line work is going to ruin it, haha!

Herb could definitely go for some excitement right now, like experiencing that "breaking in a new cushion" kind of feeling to which I volunteer myself XD
I'm digging the texturing in this one though! And don't beat yourself up too much over line art. Keep at it; experience is the best teacher!

Hahaha! I'm sure that kind of excitement would be exactly what he would enjoy!!
Thank you! And yeah, I am generally pretty positive as an artist, but sometimes I just get hit with random stuff like this that bothers me! I'm sure I'll get over it pretty fast. And if not, maybe I can just change my art style to stop doing linework.
