so in one of my games im running. I have a DMPC Nevilios Arnwood who is a ratling started out as an Evocation Wizard. Well after some consideration. we decided to try and spec him out with some levels into Rogue adn Fighter. to make him more Survivable. this is what i came up with.

he still has his book (with is being upgraded with garnets and rubies to increase its arcane focus bonus and thus make his spells far more potent) also added him his Ring of Protection (useing Iorn and Sapphire, both i feel are Abjuration related materials) and displaying his favorte spell type Lightning Bolt. he'll still be the partys main spellcaster sure but this way he has something to fall back on.

Plus as one of my players  Agent_T pointed out, well heres the conversation we had.

A Battlemaster-Fighter/Rogue multiclass (not sure on the rogue subclass, but assassin would be tempting) Just think about it... combine Sneak attack with battlemaster-maneuvers like precision strike or riposte...
i mean rogues are scary enough as is.. but add superiority dice on top and you get the stuff of nightmares

Assassinate
Starting at 3rd level, you are at your deadliest when you get the drop on your enemies. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn in the combat yet. In addition, any hit you score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit.

Combine that with +1d8 to hit on top...

Now it must be said hes NOT THERE YET but this is sort of the Path/plan we're considering. nothings written in stone yet and while the leves in figther and rogue might be useful for his survival. who knows. things may change. for right now. im like enterining this idea ^^

also teh Adamantium breastplate was Raneks idea. XD his character made the armor. now mine has to get used to wearing armor. througth the aquistion of time rule he'll have profeceny in breastplates after one week (7 days). without haveing to spend levels in fighter.
