Strangers in Luminé - Mortle Expressions (Sketch)
The image above is a series of facial expression sketches for Mortle, a motherly tortle barbarian character created by Lunaris, a dedicated player of my role-playing games (i.e. Vampire: The Masquerade and Dungeons and Dragons) since June 2022.
Mortle is a kind-hearted tortle raised in the province of Luminé, Beauté. She’s known for being calm, collected, and charming but also quick to anger when someone threatens the lives of her friends. Known for her defensive abilities, Mortle proves to be quite a formidable totem warrior in battle, preferring to hold her enemies back while her allies deliver most of the offence.
Coincidentally, Lunaris' birthday is on New Year's Day so these sketches are both a New Year's gift and a birthday present for her. Ever since joining my private Discord server where all my players chat out-of-character, she's been an indispensable advisor and confidant to me. My games probably wouldn't have been as successful as they were if it weren't for her input.
