a fantastic realised commission by the great and gifted artist

For a while now, I've had a special soft spot for Heathenfang's paintings that are based on the pioneer times up to the (late) Wild West. Therefore I was happy to get the chance to have my Friesian Anthro-Horse character Steppenfire depicted in the style of one of these epochs.
Steppenfire wears a black jacket, a white shirt with stand-up collar, a breasted waistcoat, a western Kentucky style tie and a topper hat in this picture. His accessories are a pocket watch and a walking stick with a horse-head handle.
His slightly snobbish look underlines his higher status, which I have attributed to him as a dressed up Friesian in such an era.

The Iron Horse Railway will connect the south with the north in a few years' time, opening up entirely new markets for our Company.
It will allow even ordinary people to travel across the country in a matter of days. It's hard to imagine how this will change not only our account books, but the whole society... Future is being written here!
I am not yet losing sleep over the delays in the expansion of the railways, but I am concerned about the reports on the progress of our competitor Miles Leo in the West.
I now trust this bandit to personally manipulate the weather or bribe our workers... Perhaps we too should start playing this game by these 'new rules'.
Time is money... and if I have to invest some more Dollars to catch up, then I will definitely do that!"
