Was talking with a friend and observed I'd never drawn a picture of someone partially transmuted, so what better thing to do about that than draw myself turning to stone? This is very loosely based on a real coati photo at https://untamedanimals.com/wp-conte.....osed-Coati.jpg but you can see how I made the pose worse in my characteristic ways.
A couple tricks I learned in this: the easiest way to do a convincing partial transmutation was to double the layer with Austin's outline and do two colorings, one with natural colors and one with marble colors, and then erase elements from the layer on top so the layer underneath came through. I put some shading on the realistic tail as a clipping mask, and realized I could copy that for the stone coloring. So both figures have the same fur patterns and lighting and shading, even where it doesn't matter any. Shall have to remember this for future transmutation pictures.
Why should this be happening here, in a pleasant hillside where nothing seems to be particularly magical or enchanted or anything? Well, you know, these things can happen anywhere, so why not here?
