MALAKAS Project - Figaro Draconus “Figment” Epsilon
If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
Description:
Figaro Draconus Epsilon was born into an Italian draconic family whose business relied on monopolizing Floridian golf properties. Using connections as a retired executive, in 1990s Figaro's father managed to enlist him into the space-themed amusement park (named Epsilon Station Park) built in Orlando, not only to keep his business line going for generations, but also in hopes of developing new ideas that could outrun the rival park (specifically the family-friendly yet more famous fantasy-themed amusement park) on the long run.
On the other hand, Epsilon Station Park, also called "Epsilon Park", was an amusement park whose rides and attractions were heavily influenced with space themes, which worked pretty well However, this came out so homogenous to many guests, and some of its attractions also turned out to be boring. One famous example was a glass pyramid theatre telling visitors about overwhelmingly optimistic ideals and possibilities soon to unfold in the future, but it was built and opened on the day of Epsilon Park's public opening in 1983, and therefore was rendered an outdated eyesore in the eyes of millennials. What was not helping the case was, Epsilon Park's fantasy park strived better, not because its theme suited well for most ages, but because its executives knew well how to diversify its contents while preserving it, like a dense jungle rollercoaster for boys and soothing swan ride on a river for girls.
For few decades, Figaro ended up as a highly skilled worker, both in menial and executive tasks, through imaginative yet optimistic forms of charisma and entertainment applied to guests, friends and fellow employees alike. This even went up to the point of becoming the park's mascot, due to being the most attractive dragon that young Floridians could adore. Starting in early 2000, he would eventually have a nickname by many Floridians for the rest of his life, "Figment", due to his tirelessly fun charisma and expressive imagination, even his family would mostly but compassionately call him just that. Figaro himself wished to have that as his first name replacement as well at some point, but then agreed with many reasonable adults that being named 'Figment' would sound ridiculous to be put in an officially formal name, even for a heartfully charming dragon.
In 2020, Epsilon Park remained pale in comparison with its fanstasy-themed rival reputation and sales wise, mostly due to the latter's worldwide acknowledgement, merchandise and fame and the former's influence restricted to the whole of Florida. No else beyond Florida even knew anything about Figment, not that he would care, as long as he enjoyed entertaining guests and satisfying his co-workers. However, the fantasy theme park had begun its shift in its leadership and set its focus on making a new narrative, which later turned to be toxic. New rules there promoted shaming and guilt-tripping the majority of Floridians (and the rest of the United States to that extent), which drove the elderly and families away, switching into Epsilon Park instead, thus more sales and fame in the Epsilon's favor. In 2021, the fantasy park began notice such a trend that took away its flow of visitors and began a series of smear advertisements against Epsilon Park, only to get into a long-standing hot water with an upcoming governor of Florida, who was also disgusted with the way the fantasy park was going through.
It was 2022 and Epsilon Park's fantasy rival park couldn't stop giving out a smear, even put up into the global viewing, and the same governor was fed up and off to implement effective yet controversial policies to prevent the fantasy park from gaining too much power, not just onto the Floridian politics, but also onto that of the US. Meanwhile, most of the staff in Epsilon Park had already grown cautious and weary due to such situations running around in the state. Even Figment grew so disillusioned, that he began working in the park less and less, and his elderly parents were genuinely and rightfully worried about that.
On one fateful day was one of Epsilon Park's retired executives who once left for California and then returned to Florida in a much different appearance. Ernesto Bayes, once a lean middle-aged crocodile, was now a hulking reptilian monster, standing 7 feet tall before guests and workers alike. Figment was present at the time as well, and was awed to see his former higher-up show up that bigger and more attractive. Ernesto, recognizing his favorite charmer, told him everything about how he ended up like this and then persuaded his parents to let him join the MALAKAS Project. Although reluctant, they agreed to let Figment join the project, hoping he would get newer and more effective ideas to help Epsilon Park outgrow its overwhelmingly toxic rivalry with its fantasy-themed counterpart.
Few weeks later would Figment arrive at the mountain base somewhere in California, but the supervisor of the MALAKAS Project, Christopher North took interest in the purple dragon, having already gone to Epsilon Park a year ago. Figment turned out to be the one who proposed materializing holographic items for more practical uses in the future, as creditted back in the pyramid theater. He acknowledged such concept that had yet to realize, but Chris opted to help him make it come true. However, that was no less the part of a deal that Chris had in mind. Having already learned a potential from Bayes about Figment before, the brown-and-black dog wished to see the dragon as yet another promotional bodybuilder (the first was Timothy Soro) but in his own family amusement park in a faraway US state. Figment on the other hand, still weary about the events back at home, reluctantly accepted the deal.
In span of few months, Figment had been working out till he became a Super Soldier with a Juggernaut ability, as well as working on a holographic materialization alongside several willing scientists. Eventually the dragon had managed to harness orange holograms that anyone could touch, but he became so confident that he began relying on holographic weapons in form of sentry drones, bombs, swords, etc. But before he would go too far, Chris managed to persuade him to take on a secondary fight as well, just in case should his holograms fail to work. Figment agreed, and went for a simple sledgehammer. Despite such, he turned out to be a less capable fighter, even after becoming a Super Soldier, mostly due to being pacifist, wanting nothing but fun and free from any trouble. Should he be forced to fight however, he would sometimes gain an upper hand and succeed, but for long he could temporarily be arrogant and merciless towards his enemies without realizing it. Should he critically hurt someone or calm himself down, he would be apologetic and quick to make amends. Such a case actually happened between Figment himself and the Cranberry gang outside the mountain lab, just one day after Figment gained the Juggernaut ability, the gang was of course unforgiving towards an unprovoked fight from someone else but was not keen on negotiating with seemingly nice-then-mean fighters out of fear, for they had dealt with dangerous psychopaths before.
Figment would then be honorably discharged and brought back home a week later. Naturally, his parents felt uncomfortable with his new appearance but were nevertheless open to hear his new ideas, which Figment was confidently more than happy to introduce. Guests and co-workers on the other hand were much ecstatic to see him back.
