A new way to play Pokémon - 2nd Person Zoroark Sprite TF
A fun caption I wrote for
Dayvoso for their own Zoroark TF found here.
Digitization is one of my personal favorite TFs, so seeing one involving my favorite Pokémon (besides Kyurem) was enough to break me out of my burnout.
Sadly, wasn't enough to get me to actually post the thing, which is why it's being uploaded so late. Apologies for that.
I got many more TFs on the way, so stay tuned!
“So, you’re sure this actually works?” You’d question as you picked up the seemingly normal DS, your friend nodding as they gestured over to the device. “Absolutely. You’ll be able to become a pokemon with this. Any pokemon you like. I already put in the details for you, so all you need to do is power it on, and the device will take care of the rest”
“Why a DS though?” You’d inquire as you looked over the rather outdated console, your friend shrugging in response. “Well, where else are we going to get the pokemon data from? I’m certainly not taking apart my switch for this. Plus, you said you wanted to be a Zoroark, right? What better source than the game it originated from?” It was hard to argue with that logic. With hands trembling from excitement, you’d power on the device, the screen lighting up as fragments of code began to flash across its surface, running foreign commands, before suddenly switching to the opening scene of Pokemon White.
As the game started to boot up, you'd feel your body lock up involuntarily as a burst of electricity and pixels washed over you suddenly, the device slipping from your grip and clattering to the ground. You'd try and move, only to find yourself frozen in place! What was going on here? This wasn’t what was supposed to happen. Everything felt numb and... odd. Looking down at yourself, you noticed your form... compress. Definition was lost as you watched your fingers fuse, everything flattening down into mere lines and colours, leaving it a two dimensional mimicry of what had once been. The rest of your body followed afterwards. Try as you might, you still couldn't move your body, and being 2D felt... really odd. Everything felt light and floaty, with no substance behind it.
Tingling would run up and down your arms, the resolution on your hands dropping rapidly, to 128 bit, to 64, 32... 16. It was hard to tell them apart at this resolution, just a blur of brownish pixels, until the colours shifted, black and dark greys forming new outlines, as the rest of the pixels turned a vibrant shade of scarlet, becoming a trio of... red claws? Before your eyes, you'd watch the same happen to your feet, pixels changing colour, turning the same colours of red and grey, before... floating off the canvas that was your body, the coloured squares floating around before suddenly plunging back down onto your form, rearranging as the rounded shape of your shoes would give way to three red triangles, another set of claws mounted upon light grey... paws? It wasn't hard to figure out what was happening here, as you tried to give your best glare despite your current inability to move anything
'Oh don't look at me like that. You knew exactly what you were getting into. You think creatures that can breath fire, create earthquakes, and shoot beams of energy could really exist in real life? No no, Pokémon can only exist within their game'
Looking down, you'd witness more and more pixels spread up your arms and legs, overwriting their original colours and shapes. The smooth lines of skin and and fabric replaced by jagged bristles of fur, as legs would shift into a digitigrade form, bending backwards as heels raised up until you were balancing on claws, and your upper arms would lose a lot of mass, instead transferring down to your forearms, as your elbow gained large pointed tufts of fur. Your fully transformed limbs would then move, taking on a familiar stance. Your arms moved to be at the ready, positioned at either side of your now shifting chest, while your legs took on a wide stance, in no way unassisted by the shifting in your hips to move them adjacent to your torso. It looked as though you were anticipating an oncoming attack from somewhere out of view.
The remains of your shirt would vanish, replaced by a lithe hourglass waist, and two large peaks of black fur that formed a fluffy ruffle atop your shoulders and chest. And it was at this point you finally took notice of what had been happening 'behind' you. Behind being rather metaphorical considering your status as a two dimensional sprite. Gone was your short dark brown locks, replaced by a large and bushy crimson mane that flowed over your back, large prominent black tips covering its mass, with you managing to catch it just in time to watch a band of cyan pixels form a bead around your new ponytail, as well as watch it finish climbing it's way up your skull, soon flanked on either side by two grey triangles. The pointed ears of a Zoroark
All that was left of your humanity was your face, but that wouldn't last as the pixels finally creeped their way across. Even if you could still move your mouth, you would've lost that ability as soon as it was reduced to a smug grin drawn across your newly formed pointed snout, a few red pixels forming around the end. Soon even the glare of your eyes was overtaken, gaze drawn forward to face an unseen foe, pupils slowly gaining a cyan tint
Gone was your human form, all that was left was the image of a Zoroark, as you found the world growing larger and larger around you as your pixelated form was drawn into the DS, your vision darkening for a moment, before returning as you found yourself within a light green void, your Zoroark body stuck atop a green circle, slowly going through it's idle animation
Trapped behind the screen, you could only watch as the DS you now resided in was picked up, the grinning face of the one who tricked you staring back.
'Mhmm. Pokemon don't exist in the real world, no indeed, they're just pixels and code behind a screen. Which is what you are now, just pixels and obedient code. Designed to stay in place and look good while your owner inputs commands. I must say though, you make a very cute Zoroark. Perhaps I'll keep you for myself.~ and if you're a good obedient Zoroark maybe I'll trade you up to one of the 3D games and give you some pets hmm?'
Zoroark was caught!
Give a nickname to the caught Zoroark?
D|a|y|v|o|s|o|
Another tingle would run through your body as the screen suddenly transitioned from the menu, as you found yourself out in the overworld? You still couldn't move your body though, a small bubble with a question mark popping up above your head to represent your confusion
'Well, I didn't think it'd be fair to have you stuck waiting in some boring menu going through idle animations between every battle. And I missed the old following mechanic from the older generation, so now you get to have a front row seat to everything. I might even add in some extra interactions, just for you. I think this playthrough is going to be very interesting now~' You'd hear before the DS was closed, and everything went black
