Do not consider that comment as an act of aggression, and yet it is precisely in the fact that a certain special position is assigned to the character - and there is a strangeness in my personal opinion. How to understand "does not identify"? does she even need to identify herself with anything? It's just a young gal from the animated series. Does it make sense to raise the question of who she identifies herself with in relation to her at all? In the end, take your personal characters and assign them certain qualities.
People can and will, and are allowed, to assign traits to characters they like or identify with. It seems to me that you just disagree with another person's headcanon, which is fine. But, at the end of the day, this is--Just a harmless headcanon about a character someone likes. If you don't like or agree with it, you can move on without needing to make comments about it.
Let's now assign other people traits that are not peculiar to them, based on their own distortions of the cuckoo. The attitude towards characters should not be easier than towards people, because people are reflected, and by such a distortion you mock both the character and the person this character reflects, and the author of this character.
I...What? I think you might be reading a bit too much into the identity of a fictional character. It's okay to not like someone else's headcanons but at the end of the day we're talking about fictional technicolor horses. I highly doubt anybody at Hasbro or the MLP animation team cares that one person headcanons Scootaloo as being nonbinary.
The fact that the character is fictional does not give us a special right to twist his character as we please, since this is not our character and we do not prescribe a character for him. If we are doing this, then in the end it is a completely different character that has nothing to do with the original.
