To celebrate Pride Month, I'm making a series of three pictures of characters from my series of work. And because I'm a hack who didn't put any thought into this, those characters will be flying flags representing their sexualities. That's right; we doin' this Overwatch style!
Let's start with a very recent couple; Blaze and Blase the two-headed Cinderace- also known by their couple name, Blasze.
For Blase, she was raised since the day she hatched alone by a kind, albeit distant Pokemon biologist named Dr. Kyle M. Jericho. Isolated from the rest of the world while Dr. Jericho attempted to find a cure for her condition, Blase never knew any other buns in her life- or any other Pokemon at all for that matter.
Even so, when she woke up the day after her life-saving fusion and met the bun she'd be sharing the rest of her life with, it was love at first sight. Never really got the chance to confess those feelings for the first month they spent together though.
ultimately it's understandable; being raised in complete isolation- only ever interacting with one human you never met face-to-face before who just up and vanished one day... it's gonna make you a little awkward around people, no matter what.
For Blaze though... She always swung that way- simple as that!
You could argue that due to being a fragmented being splintered off of a very decidedly straight (ally) Cinderace, she was always gonna prefer girls over boys. but at that point, we're bringing metaphysical nonsense into this discussion of a fictional fire rabbit's sexual preference.
Long story short, Blaze is a gay bun. She was always a gay bun. Got it? Moving on!
Blase finally confessed to Blaze after their first month together. At the time. They were trying to take a bath, and Blaze was getting tired of her and Blase looking away from their shared body as she and Blase cleaned themselves.
So Blaze got the idea to play "Gay Chicken" with her bodymate, in an effort to make the two of them more comfortable in their shared skin. Because if they were gonna be together for life, Blaze was gonna be GOOD AND ARCEUS DAMNED if she was gonna spend a portion of that life in awkward silence!
The two of them locked eyes as they scrubbed their body down. The plan was to not break eye contact no matter what. If they kept this up, soon enough they wouldn't even need to think about it. it'd be totally natural- like they were born like this!
When they got to their, erm, more private parts, the two-in-one Cinderaces couldn't resist anymore. Blase confessed her feelings to Blaze, and the pair agreed to "mutually forfeit" their little game and both be the gay chicken. It was the longest bath that either of them have ever taken in their lives...
It more than helped clear up their awkwardness around each other- ever since that day, they were a lot more cuddlier with each other than they ever were before! Suffice it to say, it didn't take long at all for everyone to catch on to the Love-buns' sudden closeness. and Blaze's brother Sparky was the first among them to show his support, if only because he beat everyone else to it!
