That was what I had assumed too, actually. That's a whole other level of horror on Kass' situation, which is already sufficiently complicated to keep an entire post-graduate class of psychology students busy for an entire semester trying to untangle. There's so many levels to Kass' situation that aren't immediately apparent or wouldn't occur to one without intentionally thinking about it, and the realization that your body will very likely age at a rate far faster than what your mind expects is going to be all kinds of fucky.
Suppose when you have such a short lifespan you learn to get over things quick or you might not live to do so.
Still, I'm glad there was an connection made and understanding. Tho panel 3 and 4 are relatable.
I have no idea why, but Viz look in panel 5 with what she's saying, I can't help but hear it with a mingle of teasing pride and playful envy.

If so, now I want a stand alone set of panels 5 and 6 where 5 is the exact same only except replacing mother figure with "hot MILF" and the last bit of rather then in that young body just doubling down with "You could be a hot milf too." Leaving 6 blank as I believe that is EXACTLY the look that would receive.
Why yes! Last panel here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50965444/

Yo, OOPsites! I'm here to remind you yet again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
OOPs closed out last month at around 53rd place and around 845 votes. It's currently at 936 votes and 49th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes. Just a little left in the month, so vote, vote, vote!
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

I've always wondered about transformations like that, whether the body is, essentially, "perfect" to start in a way that no natural one could be, because it came out of nowhere and hasn't experienced any entropy. No gravity, no toxins, no illness, no sun exposure, no deprivation, not a hair of the effects of time that even a young person would have experienced.
If that holds, Kass might live a very long time for a yinglet. And would produce just the BEST eggs, mmhmm!

I will definitely admit "Transformation as body reconstruction to fix all issues" is a major appeal for me, since my IRL body is a twisted, burning wreckage of nerve damage and autoimmune conditions. In fact, this is actually a plot point in my own yinglet story, "Modern Major Yinglet", since the lead character is the most self-insert of all my main characters. She starts with my same health issues and disabilities, only to be "cured" by having her body rebuilt at the cellular/genetic level. ...And now it's causing problems because she's being kicked off disability, and is losing her apartment for it. ^_^;;
"because she's being kicked off disability, and is losing her apartment for it. ^_^;;"
Sir, TFs are all about having magically all of your life problems solved without any real world consequence, even when changing your body should in theory solve none of them.
For your crime of daring bringing way too realist consequences into a transformation, you'll be Tf'ed into a cashew.

Well, if it helps, it did cure all of her life problems. Heck, she doesn't even need to take HRT anymore, since her body is now female!
...It just replaced them with an entirely new set of life problems, which are mostly different flavors of "being a yinglet". Let's face it, modern Earth is very much not set up for a yinglet to exist. ^_^;;

Was rather taking a jab at the fact you bothered adding realistic drawback to your character transformation instead of just ignoring thoses details in favor of "being tf'ed = perfect new life" like many do :p
And true , at least in your character's case it's certainly an improvment goign from a a crippled body to an healthy one ^^

Liking the respect shown by both parties here. Kass acknowledging that Vizlet was trying to help, Vis understanding she pushed it a little too far. There's also feel like there's also a slight undercurrent of Vislet trying to figure out where exactly Kass fits in the Yinglet social structure. Initially the Matriarch treated Kass like any other young female. Despite the insistence of the Trade Master, Vis assumed Kass was what she appears to be, a young female. Worse, a female raised completely outside Yinglet society. Even after her "GREAT HAZBIGS TITS" revelation, Vis has still been mostly operating as though Kass were a young female who happened to have special knowledge. It took the events of the last few comics to finally drive home to the Matriarch that Kass isn't what she looks like. I think panel five shows Vislet recategorizing Kass as something similar to a Patriarch. Not an equal, exactly, but a high level subordinate who is due more respect and consideration than even the Enclave females. I wonder what she'll think when she finds out Kass is probably actually older than her?
Old for Yinglets is 25, according to the Field Guide https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28684662/ . I highly doubt that they can make it to 40.
Its nice to see these two finding a nice compromise point though it definitely feels like this is more, "Lets put a pin in things for now..." Rather then a, "And so everything is fine and resolved."
Also man I honestly forgot about the age thing... Kass being a baby in human years, with the mind of an adult and the body of a sexually mature rodent on top of the whole gender thing is... Allot to process. Much as I DON'T think 'just bottle it all up and hope the damn doesn't break" is a terrible idea that will only lead to suffering down the line... Maybe that one can just go into the, 'Never going to think about this' box and tossed down to the bottom of that lake of stress forever... Just this one time.

I know it could never be that simple. But imagine Poak just giving her a random head pat and saying something adorable and it's hilariously effective.
Picturing Poak beside that mental dam and its covered in patches and fresh mortar but he's also installed a proper spigot to release it safely. :D

Oh my god, both of them with the uncomprehending sexism, it drives me up a wall and I adore them.
Vizlet just plain doesn't know any better re:humans so feels no need to correct/teach Kass on that which is probably a lifesaver for both of them.
It's kind of funny though how because of it, they keep unintentionally implying that being a human woman is "closer" to being a yinglet.

I don't think that's the take here. Vizlet said that yinglets don't deal well with problems so they get rid of emotional issues quickly. Kass, on the other hand, is envious that yinglets can toss aside issues almost as they please because it is unnecessary to them.
I'm also speaking of the current conversation as a whole (and of other conversations in the story.) There's stuff said over a number of pages. Kassen is a really decent guy, but he's definitely unconsciously sexist, just probably the stress and self-loathing is what's making it come out. I do note that he doesn't insult other people with it, but it's there.
And Vizlet, who would definitely try to correct stuff she thinks is wrong, doesn't even make a face. She must therefore just not recognize it.
Really it just adds to how compelling they are. And to how much I want them to get to be close friends. And how much at least one of them probably wants to be friends. And how painful it is that their duties in life make that unlikely; if they do their jobs "right", eventually they'll be at odds somehow.

after looking back at it, Vizlet might be slightly sexist but when it comes down to it, there aren't many ways to react to someone having a complete change of being and essentially throwing two different cultures into culture shock. She has also been born and raised with the perception that yinglets OBEY her as matriarch. Even the patriarchs hold their tongues with her, albeit for different reasons.
They are definitely products of the societies the grew up in. Kassen is from something very much like Medieval Europe and Vislet is a tribal ruler in a Fundamentalist Religious society. Given that, both of them are incredibly open minded and seem to be doing their best to work past their preconceptions.
She is, but she's still right in the middle of the system. I think Vislet's intentions are to tweak the system and bpmake it better without completely tearing it down. Given what the Great One's change to her culture and very species did, that's a tall order, probably multiple lifetimes worth of work.
Ohhhh, okay. So the Yinglet body itself is biologically younger than his chronological age. I was wondering about that this whole time. Legitimately thought Kass was living on borrowed time, what with Kass himself being already older than the lifespan of some Yinglets, and the female body taking the same biological age.
It might not be all that much different. Going by a couple of side comics, Kass is 25. If his new Yinglet body is that of a young adult female, essentially the human equivalent of a teenager, which is what's being implied, then he's the equivalent of anywhere from eight months to three years old for a Yinglet. Kass is about the same size as other adult Yinglets, so probably at the top end of that scale. If we say Kass is the biological equivalent of a three year old Yinglet, then he could easily live another decade and a half, which would give him an upper lifespan of around 50. And that's assuming he doesn't have an extraordinarily long lifespan like Patriarch Figgens who isvin his 40s.
So Viz could easily have a romp cause yinglets are not so picky when it comes to gender. Kas is a male, in a female body and his male mind is having male thoughts about a female Viz...Talk about a mind-fek. Still, if you think about it, both could enjoy any personal interactions and stay fairly true to themselves. Shall we start taking bets? Odds anyone?
It's an AU comic, but Kass states she's 25 here. Also, stupid sexy Vislet.

The stuff about humans being more complex and not being able to just cry about it and move on is exactly my own thought process. I've had my share of crying, but it didn't necessarily accompolish anything. The reality of my situation and experiences still exist, and now they're just memories that I dwell on. Unfortunatley, there is no easy or quick fix.
As for Kass's transformation, that's an ongoing issue he has to face every second of his life right now. It feels the only road he can take is acceptance, while I want to think that's an easy thing to do, it's hard when it feels like a part of him has changed mentally, not only physically. Case in point, the time laughed at a fart, the time he got emotional and started crying and hugging Elim, the time he was inesplicably excited to meet the patriarchs, and so on.
Honestly, this idea of the yinglet brain and instincts that are affecting Kassen makes me want to watch The Fly, which I haven't seen. I really want to see how that movie handled transformation in terms of the mind, as I know that guy's TF was a gradual one.

Ok, so Kass' yinglet age is the yinglet equivalent of a human in their 20s or such, which would mean about 3 years of age for yinglets, I think?
I'm basing this off of Vizlet's comment: "..., in zhat young body."
Another less plausible, but more enjoyable theory I have is that Kass is still the same age in human years as a yinglet, but due to "zhat zhing's" magical properties, maybe it slowed down Kass' yinglet aging to the point, where they still age as fast as humans, albeit in a yinglet body.

Okay so what I'm getting here at the end of the day. Kass wants to deal with things one thing at a time and not all at once as many other commenters and Vizlet was saying. Which I think is what Kass really needs at the moment, something to talk about and calm down from. Which I think right now is his best friend at the moment and he'll get to the helplessness problem later, like probably when he tries to get combat skills as a Yinglet. Although I'm still quite surprised by his choice of weapon when he was a human.
