If only she had access to a loyal, strong, kind, mildly intimidating if necessary, person who can look in 6 direction at once and has no problem spending long extended periods of time near her, but where could someone like that be found?
side note considering she worked with high value materials like gold and jewels, if she could get a reliable and effective security guard she would definitely pay them quite handsomely

Such a meticulous exploration of the jeweler's profession in this place, and articulated so admirably clearly by the honored craftswoman!
The samples of the jewel-making are positively sublime, and make me to impulse-buy them all, even though I'm neither drunk nor do I have anyplace nice enough to display these wondrous encapsulations of thought, dedication and good taste.
I would have done it on a suitably scenic piece of public property, were it not for those fikkin' thieves!...
Oh, and Kalgkur is such an overeducated noble family kid, bored with the lush tapestry of multicultural civilization he presumes to have fully understood by skimming the basics of its topmost strata of politics, but who is reduced to a trembling, awe-stricken lamb when confronted with the romantic ruggedness of a dedicated, self-determined creator (he had a similarly potent reaction to the old caravan guard with unblunted claws).
That, and being fully entranced by the capabilities of those dexterous segmented pentaclaw-clusters the humans take for granted (like I do now while typing).
Being amazed by strange manipulators seems to be a thing with Kalgkur.

Proud and honored to receive such high praise!
If this were a by-the-numbers colonialist mighty-whitey fantasy in the vein of Morrowind, Dune or Dances With Wolves, Kalgkur would have totally been a contender for the role of The Hero, who starts by rolling off a boat, excitedly sponging in all the heady foreign flavor, excelling in his settler capacity, getting disenchanted with the old Imperial Standard, noticing the oppression taking place, immersing in the local culture, falling in love with the local exotic beauty, and leading a revolution that ends up founding the new independent state for his new peoples, after which he would retire as an humble rancher, living in harmony with nature, herding his giant centipede cows, and raising his and his wifey's three beautiful grubby children.
But because this is a whirlwind of Valsalia-brand meticulous forethought in culturecrafting, and a chaotic passionate inner and interpersonal drama bearing the same brand, the pool old boy is going to have to be a lovable comic relief, sliding and skittering over the garden rakes of his conceit and his naivety, while we all bless his earnest youthful heart, and seek to give him a hug, being excited to see him learn better, but indulgently hoping he'll never shed his awkwardness.

Yo there, OOPsfolk! I'm here to remind you once again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
OOPs closed out last month at 75th place and about 720 votes. It's currently at 245 votes and 85th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

Voted and bookmarked, thank you for promoting the good works!
Having scrolled through over a thousand of these banners, I got hit with several disparate notions:
I was humbled by the sheer amount of creative initiatives out there -- definitely enough to fill a lifetime;
I was encouraged seeing so many different levels of art and design excellence in those banners, it's truly a free-for-all;
and I was saddened to see so many creators fighting-by-proxy for the upper tiers of a totem pole like that,
although that's not the fault of the site, but an expression of a larger trend for needless-but-necessary competition relationships between humans.
