One of the four stone lions located at the ends of Naniwa Bridge in central Osaka -- this particular statue sits at the northeast corner.
Unfortunately, these lions at the northern end of the bridge are now overshadowed by a section of the unsightly elevated highways crisscrossing the city.

I was hoping you might repost this after I saw your photo's thumbnail in my Notifications earlier today, and got the 404 this post I assume took the place of. What a treat in sharing, and what a sight!
After seeing the sculptures you've shared with us in your photos here in Osaka, and the big greystone fellow in New York City, I thought of and recalled a pair of very impressive giant lions who keep watch at the main entrance to the Toronto Public Library, Lillian H. Smith branch here in Toronto, Ontario just off of College Street, the location also known in local legend as the Spaced-out Library that hosts a massive collection of science-fiction and fantasy printed novels and pulp productions, which I believe can only be read on the premises for safety purposes.
I haven't been to the Spaced-Out Library in almost a decade, but I do have my Nikon D5100 DSLR now and more recently my lovely LG G6 smartphone with camera, and you've got me in a mind to go there by 506 College streetcar and bring back some macro-lens, macro lion evidence to share here on FurAffinity as you have of yours with us, Friend Goldie. <3
