During a battle against control freak on the rooftop of a tall building, Control Freak’s remote got smashed just as he pointed at the Titans and pressed “Skip”. Robin, Cyborg and Beast boy got shunted out of their bodies and thrown into Starfire, Raven, and Terra. Beast Boy in particular was sent miles away, and wound up having no idea of what happened after opening his new eyes.
With nothing piloting them, the boys original bodies collapsed like puppets with their strings cut. The empty shells slumped over the edge of the roof and plummeted to the ground, killing them instantly.
Soon after, Starfire wound up in the body of Jinx and Raven in the body of Bumblebee. Raven still had about half her regular powers, a portion was held in her original body and the other in her soul. She quickly put a stop to the “Skip” function, nabbing Bumblebee, Jinx, and Terra’s minds before they could push another trio out of their bodies. Due to the travel time from the distance involved, Terra thankfully didn’t have time to displace someone else. After a few awkward moments figuring out her new wings, Raven flew over to the rooftop where her old body and Starfire’s form had tied up Control Freak.
Raven asked who was in her body and nodded. Could be worse, Cyborg was a goofball but reliable. She looked over the side of the building after asking what happened to the boys original bodies and sucked in air through her teeth. Unless she took up necromancy, it looked like there was no going back now.
Raven took the loose minds she had nabbed and placed them inside brain dead patients at the local hospitals. Their souls had already passed on, and the replacements quickly healed the brains of their new vessels. Not the most elegant solution but it kept everyone from really dying.
Starfire/Jinx showed up at titans tower the next day, expecting a tough conversation where she would struggle to prove her identity. Raven answered the door and let Starfire in, having already figured out who was whom from stopping the Skip from progressing.
Best boy showed up days later, under the impression that he was the only one to swap. Beast boy pretended to be the original terra, convinced that this was temporary and that he could get Terra back into the good graces of the titans. Raven, thinking it was funny, decided to play along and let him keep up the act. She wanted to see how long he could keep it up and how long it would take him to realize he wasn’t the only one switched.
The room situation was an interesting problem. Starfire insisted that Robin sleep in her room, claiming that as he was Starfire now he had to sleep in Starfire’s room. Starfire also insisted that she would sleep there too, as she too was Starfire and it was obviously her room. Robin agreed, rationalizing it with the fact that the only clothes that fit him were there.
Raven graciously gave Cyborg her room, taking Robins empty room for herself as she wouldn’t be caught dead in Beast boy’s disaster of a room and Cyborg’s room wasn’t fit for anyone made entirely out of flesh.
Beast Boy slept with Cyborg, the two assuming each other was who they appeared to be at first glance. Beast boy was excited to have what he thought was a real chance with Raven and Cyborg just thought the idea of being a lesbian made sense to him.
Of the new Teen Titans, Cyborg and Raven were particularly connected through the distribution of Raven’s magic. They formed a telepathic bond and wound up influencing each other in many ways. The split of the magic also made it much easier to control, leaving the two about as strong as normal without having to actively suppress Raven’s inner demons. Cyborg also developed limited technomancy, discovered after he kept accidentally activating his spare parts.
Starfire's optimism affected her new jinx powerset, she had the ability to cause good things to happen to people on top of jinx's usual fare.
Robin was usually too broody to make much use of Starfire's powers but her innate durability and strength combined with his old gear made him much more effective.
Beast boy's connection to the natural world let him create animal shaped golems out of rock, although his limited artistic ability made them look crude and angular.
