"You like D&D, Audrey Hepburn, Fangoria, Harry Houdini, and Croquet. You can't swim, you can't dance, and you don't know karate. Face it, you're never gonna make it."
Idk why I forgot to upload this last year. Mock album cover for Canary, an alt/psych rock band starring our characters as the members (currently lacking the lead guitarist, drummer, and bassist which we will hopefully have art of in the future).
"Teacher's Pet," the third EP by the British rock band 'Canary,' emerged onto the music scene courtesy of All Ears Records. The EP was meticulously crafted, with its recording process taking place in the intimate confines of lead guitarist Kijana Lerato's home and the in-house studios of All Ears Records.
Continuing in the vein of their previous EPs, "Teacher's Pet" stayed true to Canary's signature style by offering a commentary on the pressing issues that pervade British society. Kana focused more on the education system and the formative years of British youth. Drawing from his experiences as an immigrant child growing up in the British school system, the EP reflected on the trials and tribulations young learners face.
"Teacher's Pet" also departed from Canary's raw, Britpop-inspired roots. The EP served as a shift in their style, delving into the realms of alternative and psychedelic rock. This transformative shift was primarily attributed to the arrival of Galaxii, who seamlessly integrated herself as a permanent member of the band. With her awe-inspiring skills on the keyboard, Galaxii opened up new realms of musical exploration, allowing Canary to be more experimental with their music. This period also marked the addition of other permanent members, such as drummer Wojciech 'Sobol' Sobolewski and bassist Hayley Wentz, further enriching the band's dynamic lineup.
The release of "Teacher's Pet" signified a pivotal moment in Canary's artistic trajectory, showcasing their growth, depth, and unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries. As the EP resonated with audiences outside the UK, it became clear that the band had gracefully transcended the confines of their Britpop origins and were on their way to becoming a worldwide phenomenon.
Note: when asked why lead guitarist Kijana 'Kana' Lerato was not involved in the photoshoot, frontman Immazl Kiriaz remarked that Kana was hungover from a night of drinking. It was later revealed that he was suffering from dysentery.
