Now THIS was a challenge and a hell of a steep learning curve!
I wanted custom cake toppers for our wedding but ran out of time to commission someone (it's the 18th - two days away as I type this eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!) so a couple of weeks ago I bought a couple of wolf figurines and set out to do it myself!
I've learned a number of things here:
* it's a lot easier to start with an all-white figure lol. These guys were black when I ordered them so I thought I could coat them in white paint first before painting them. It worked a little bit but bits of black do show through in some parts (I guess adding depth to the fur?lol)
* Air dry clay is AH-MAZING and I can't wait to work with it more
* Nail polish clear coat is a perfect sealer in a pinch
I bought 2 1/2 lbs of air dry clay so I'm already eager to try another project like this!
