Holt Reference Sheet 2024 - Without Guide
“Heyo! The name’s Holt! Pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Wolf? Nah - only on my mothers side, least, she was raised by wolves, har! Frankly speaking though, I’m more a coyote kind of guy, least nowadays. I’m a dude, obviously, and I’m proud to come in at the wise ol’ age of twenty-two. My weight is uh… variable, tah say the least, and I can’t rightly remember how tall I’m supposed to be - somewhere between 5’10 and however big I need tah’ be for a particular Heftoon or drawin’.”
“As I think ya can tell, I ain’t a stranger to eatin’ big - my ideal meal is the kind that leaves ya beached afterwards, or at the very least, leaves ya stuck in the door, hah! On top of that, I’m kind of an artsy dude, but not in the pretentious way - I ain’t going around taping bananas to walls or anythin’ dumb like that, nah - the pen and page is what I love!”
“I’m down for all kinds of drawing, whether it’s on my fancy lil’ IPad (which, in a tragic case of false advertising, did NOT come with any free apples or apple-flavored sweets. Think I can sue?), but as I get older, I’ve started likin’ the more traditional side of art more and more. Don’t get me wrong - still love all the digital stuff! But there’s really nothing like illustratin’ right on the page, the ol’ fashioned way.”
“It’s sort of like I’m comin’ back to my roots before my digital days - back when all I did was doodle with a pen or a pencil in the corners of homework, or the margins of my notebook. I’m a huge fan of pencil sketching, finished or not, inkwork with all kinds of pens, although the Stadeler Chiseltip is by far my favorite nowadays, and colored pieces with my fancy new set of Chisel-tip Prismacolor markers, which I absolutely adore! In fact, I loved em’ so much that I colored myself with em’, as ya can see here! Down below is a handy dandy reference to which of them went into bringin’ me to life.”
“I’m pleased to finally share a good reference of myself with all of ya, and I look forward to sharin’ more of the art I’ve done for other folks, as well as my own personal hijinks - a huge thank ya to all of you for all the favorites and follows over the years, I doubt this yote’d be in this line of work if weren’t for you lovely lords n’ ladies. Now, enough with the sappy stuff and 4th wall breaks - I’ve got to get back to my art here soon, and, more importantly, I’ve got to get back to eatin’, too - I’ve nearly missed second lunch!”

Huh - took me long enough to get a good reference of my fursona out here! It took me so long that the poor guy had a bit of a species change in the mean time! He’s still the same ol’ Holt overall, just with a little more scruff (and gut, too!) I was originally intending to make this a digital piece, but after I got my Prismacolor markers in the mail, I simply couldn’t give up the chance to do it traditionally.
This is the first reference sheet I’ve ever fully finished, and the second marker model sheet/guide I’ve done, too! (Expect to see more of those, including the yet-to-be-released first one to make an appearance soon…) This was an absolutely lovely project to work on, and a blast all-around - I hope you all enjoy the new piece, and I hope you’re all doin’ well!
