We are all diffrent. Just because you are Aseksuel dosent mean you dont like looking on Nudes. i have a friend who is Aseksuel and have it that way. he dosent like the idea having sex, but he dont mind looking at it, but it dosent turn him on the same way it does for others.
And blocking him... yerh thats not easy if they go to school at the same place ^^

Again I say, Rob should have said something the first time he got the first nude.
Are sending unsolicited nude pics rude and unbecoming? Absolutely. Since Matthew won't, only Rob is responsible for respecting his own boundaries.
Also if Rob is certain about his asexuality, he should have been upfront about it. Instead of leading Matthew on, which he did on the basis of pity from the events prior.
There's this prevailing attitude among those whom are trying to discover (or already know) their sexual orientation that only their own feelings and emotions matter and the actions they take to express it are always valid.

Yes, Rob should have replied to state his boundaries at the beginning. Though he was with friends at the time where he didn’t exactly have the opportunity to muster the courage to state them. Lots of ideas and feedback coming from his friends that put a lot on his mind to process.
Perhaps he could have responded later “off-screen”, and negligence may have swayed him still from explaining to Matt that he’s Ace.
However, he does express at the second time Matt sends him a nude that he’s afraid of being rejected. Which I think gives us at least some sort of understanding why he didn’t immediately make things clear.
So, I while I still agree that he should have told him, I think it’s important to understand why he didn’t. Not that Matt could know why, of course.
Also from what we see, Rob did not seem to respond to Matt’s nudes in any way. Matt could have then considered if Rob was consensual about receiving them.
Also sure, sexual interests are just as valid as emotions and feelings, but it doesn’t excuse Matt for the way he treated Rob in this page. The words he chose are incredibly rude, close-minded, and objectifying via a racial stereotype towards Rob.
Maybe they’re both in the wrong for their own ways, but overall I think Matt is further wrong than Rob at this point.

In all fairness, my justifications are in favor of Rob mostly because we have a lot of his perspective in this comic to go off from so far.
It’s not entirely fair to be against Matt since we don’t have much of his own side of the story to go off from. I’m sure he’ll try to apologize and explain in later pages.
But just from basic decency, Matts actions are more difficult to side with, in comparison to Robs. Especially the ones here on this page than any of each of their other wrongs so far.
Based on that, yes I would say Matt is in the wrong.

Matthew is dismissive of Rob's feelings when he says that. Rob didn't immediately tell Matthew about himself when Matthew started doing advances.
This is not a situation of people being right or wrong, this is a situation of people not fully understanding the situation and saying or doing things that are hurtful

Matthew was upfront and forward about his intentions (messed up as they are), and Rob wasn't. Plus, Rob acted out of pity. How could Matt NOT be dismissive? Having Rob discuss his feelings are moot at that point. That is the way you wrote it.
Ah yes! The, "Nobody/Everyone is at fault. Just a communication breakdown." This mentality is weak and dismissive in of itself, which makes for boring storytelling.

Being uncomfortable about being sent unsolicited nudes, not being sure how to reply, and needing time to come to terms with it/how to respond is valid. Rob did not ask for the pictures in the first place and didn't respond, Matthew sent them anyway.
"'Nobody/Everyone is at fault. Just a communication breakdown.' This mentality is weak and dismissive in of itself"
That's not weakness, it's realistic. Life is full of communication issues. Tough shit if you don't like it and go read something else.

After reading though the first seven pages I'm hoping Rob just works through the suffering now and uses this as a learning experience.
He has to be brave and not let a fear of rejection stop him from being honest with people early in a relationship.
Mathew has his own issues he needs to work on, but being open minded and understanding and trust that Rob never intended to string him alon or hurt him.

Hmm... Math kinda lost it... bad there. There seems to be some trauma behind this. The way he acts is like... hm... like something has happened before. Even before Golden. I am not making an excuse for him tho. He is being a jerk here.... just well... Roberto should have tell this from the start... so Math would have not get any hopes or wrong ideas.... both are in the wrong here...
i'll just make a "tangential" comment, about all this:
my belief regarding the unfortunate propensity for these "undesirable" traits to never hit those we would desire least
i feel your pain, matt
i really do
just as it appears, matthew presumed everyone more \ less is a sexual being,
so it seems roberto took it for granted that everyone more \ less feels his same profound disdain for Intimate Relations
well, that's fine:
we can just chalk this one up to Incompatible Goals
neither roberto nor matthew should change whom they are, for the other person's sake: as that would be a True Violation of one's core being
hopefully, these college youths will figure things out soon enough

Agree! There's WAY more to a relationship than just the sex.. But saddely thats kinder how the generation of ppl have turned out to be today.
they have way to many requirements how good you shall be in bed.. and if you try change the topic they think you dont like them, because Sex is the only thing they wanna talk about.
Happen to me ALOT!

i can relate to that
do you know what makes these on-going, perennial Rejections even-more sucky, though?
is when you see these people, who (gleefully) pronounce you not in their league?
is when you see these same people traipsing about with others who.. ..by most measures-and-metrics, are objectively worse than (if they're not『about the same』— qualitatively / quantitatively) as you
i bear witness to the phenomenon...
...more times than i would care to admit, douglas
