This is part forty one of a series of images followed by stories that follow Warren, a human. And Alice, a Tordenchi. As they both survive during the Rynar's invasion of earth.
So sorry for this one taking so long! Life has been a good bit hectic all year! More OMAM, Tyrant's Reign, and a continuation into other stories to come! (Hopefully XD)

Tyrant's Reign
I woke to the sound of the wind howling outside, groaning as I pulled myself from the makeshift bed. Despite being tired, sleep didn't come easy, and lying across two seats was hardly comfortable.
Still, it was better than outside. Speaking of which…
Checking the rearview mirror, I spied the giant, still asleep. I felt bad for her, she must be cold sleeping. It was rough, but I'm sure all that fur helps. My eyes drifted down to the steering wheel, the thought surfacing again, but I promptly pushed it back.
In too deep now; I can't just leave her.
Opening the door, I was immediately hit with a gust of the morning chill, and a shiver ran through me. Damn, the temperature had really dropped! I always forget how extreme the weather is in America compared to home. Still, we had to keep moving if we were to catch Zeta-mobile.
Slipping out of the car and bracing myself against my stick, I hobbled over to the mouse, stopping a few meters away before pausing.
…
How was I going to rouse her? Poking a sleeping giant was probably not going to end well for me. The memory of waking up after a bug landed on my face, causing me to wince a little. As my gaze wandered, I spied a stick nearby, and an idea came to mind.
Picking it up and swinging it a bit to get a feel for its weight, I aimed, aiming for her hand. With a good throw, I hit my mark, her hand recoiling a bit on impact as a quiet squeak sounded. Yet she didn't stir.
Grabbing another I tried again, getting a little more of a reaction this time. I felt a little bad, but we needed to keep moving…
Is the third time the charm?
I tossed the stick once more, this time too hard. Wincing as it flung through the air to smack the rodent on their snout. Expecting her to be angry, I was surprised when she only lightly stirred...
This time, she began to wake, eyes fluttering open as a yawn followed. Taking a moment to adjust before noticing me. She sat up in an instant, causing the air around me to whistle. Casting a look of surprise and confusion down at me.
"Need to get moving!"
I shouted up at her before beckoning towards the car, knowing full well she couldn't understand me. Ugh, I really am going insane out here…
Yet I would watch as she sleepily rubbed her eyes, almost smiling as she would get up to kneel. Checking herself over, the gigantic mouse would look down at me. As warm as her smile was, her gaze lingering on me sent a squirming sensation down my spine.
"I'm never gonna get used to you..."

Let the poor girl sleep Warren, she’s been through a lot.
Okay yes your planet was violently invaded by giant aggressive lizards, who bombed your cities to ashes with plasma, forcing you as a soldier to fight them despite the size difference and tech gap, and you had to see some of your comrades and close friends suffer horrifying fates, then see another group of giant furry aliens come to your planet, fall into the mouth of one, and got your leg burned off by it.
But the poor mouse was made to come to a never before seen planet to save a never before seen pre-spaceflight race from lizards that are attacking you. Then her scout ship gets shot down by the race she’s technically here to help save, killing her crew and leaving her the only survivor of the crash in a war zone with no fighting experience or weapons to defend herself with, damaged communicator, damaged translator(so she cannot speak properly to your kind to prevent hostility), and to top it off your Sun does not power this wonder crystal that is completely absent in your system. Now she’s trying to protect you despite you trying to kill her twice with the treat of coming across aggressive lizards or your fellow Man in their death planes looming.
….Whom am I kidding you both need rest.
