This was from a pretty simple pattern, another one from Easy Crochet Critters from Vanna's Choice. I wanted to try it out to get a better idea of how stitching affects body shaping. I thought the body looked really really nice when I finished it, it really had a nice seal shape. Then I stitched in the face and attached the flippers and... eh. Lol. It's still cute, but I feel like those additions dumbed it down. I did the eyes with yarn so that I could add it to the others to give to my niece.
