His tail, despite its ungainliness, was helping him keep balance as his feet rapidly shifted under him. His shoes bulged around them, splitting at the seams and giving way to his swelling feet which were becoming more rotund and pawlike. His taloned toes strained against the wool of his socks with large dewclaws pushing out of the sides of them, dark fur rushing to cover bare skin in the absence of cloth. They elongated out from the tatters, his ankles snapping and rising higher as he rested his weight on the supple padding beneath his massive toes. The changes forced him into a crooked stance, his feet now that of the beast that was quickly taking control, not allowing Spencer any well-deserved rest this night.
