Today is my husband
and my anniversary - 2 years married, 12 together. ♥
I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this year's art so I asked him for some ideas - he said he'd like to see something with Pachua in his study. So often I've drawn him just doing dragon things and looking majestic, or staring lovingly into Luthien's eyes, but haven't really shown much about his interests or hobbies. So I drew up this little scene where he's working on writing something at his desk, and Luthien has wandered in to water the plants. A gentle bump as she brushes past him and a flirty glance says plenty without words - as is often the case for couples who are long past the poetry and extravagant declarations of love. Its in the little things now, the day-to-day stuff, where it shines through. Your heart no longer speeds up when you see them, but instead everything calms down.
On to the technical stuff. So, this was done on some really cheap posterboard, and I didn't find out until I was already coloring that this paper is total ass for markers. It almost seemed to have a waxy coating so blending the markers felt more like painting. Colored pencils worked fine, but I found I needed to layer them on top of the marker to get details, otherwise they'd just get rubbed away. Once I figured out how to use this to my advantage it worked out nice for the background though...but I won't try to do any more marker art on this stuff. x_x

Thanks so much!
I had already invested too much time into it so there was no turning back, just had to get through it. Suffering and all. lol I probably won't use it again, I have lots of better quality paper I was just trying to use some from this pack since it was the correct size. It would be better suited for other projects where I'm not relying so much on markers, maybe something with glue and scrapbook paper or stickers.

Of course!
Yeah that makes a lot of sense! Good thinking on the alternate use. It is nice to have papers for dedicated types of projects. It weirdly holds marker a lot like the rock paper a friend gave me. Like it sits on the surface rather than soaking in and getting smooth
