When he was a Terriermon, Gargomon trained vigorously almost everyday to obtain his Champion form. He was driven by the desire to protect the weak; or so he constantly claimed. When the day of his Digivolution finally came, it was like a dream come true. However, some sort of unexplainable error occurred during his digital transformation, leaving him without any gun arms.

Gargomon remained determined despite all this. He found a Digimon that can build prosthetic gun arms from him. Sadly, on his way to see them, he was ambushed by a group of strange creatures dressed in ninja attire. Without his gun arms, he was overpowered and captured.
