Here's my tribute to the kidnapper fox, an enemy that got addded and removed from lethal company within like 50 days in the best way I knew to do it as a proud weirdo. First idea that crossed my mind was the first I was gonna use.
I also wanna share my appreciation for the game, Lethal Company is the first and only furry game (some may argue changed was too and was the first, but its reputation and appeal is very debatable) to reach mainstream appeal and not counting the fact everybody involved were furries, there are some obvious telltale signs the game is uniquely furry, from the cartoony way he players move to the way they ragdoll like gmod characters when killed, there is some slapstick and trolling in the game witch makes then game even more chaotc and my personal favorite bit is how the name of every moon can be shortened resulting in some very funny words like "ass" for "assurance" and "tit" for "titan", furry humor at its finest. The game is so goofy and chaotic that this youtuber tried to speedrun it with his friends and got wiped out at the last second by a horaded shotgun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2C7ECyI33PA
I love how zany this game is and I love that it'll leave a better impression from the general population on furries. I kinda wish for more games like it, well there's Pizza Tower and it's popular among furries, but it's very intentially cartoony and I can still tell a normie made it while Lethal Company's "cartooniness" feels more natural and less forced. Undertale and Deltarune have mostly animal-like characters, but these games don't feel as "weird" as Lethal Company and I don't think Toby Fox is a furry (yeah ironic given the name).
Anyway that was how I felt about the game. if you haven't already you should play it!
This drawing was difficult to nail down because I had to simulate the game's artstyle and I didn't know how to do it on gimp.
Here's all the steps I took for the effect.
1, obviously I used the cartoon filter
2, I increased the contrast
3, Added value propafate
4, I used median blur which I like since it gives off painterly vibes to drawings
5. I actually drew the outline of the characters and vegetation befere all that, so since the value propagate, media blur and cartoon filter probably outlinedyour character by now, I changed the blending mode. Note that for me it was exactly #888, not black, not white, pure gray because the outline was also gray on the reference image I was using, so most blending methods just disappeared my lineart. You can use superposition if you use black like normal people.
6. I topped it with quantization, I changed the drawing mode from RGB to Indexed, this helped giving a unique look to the sky with the smudge tool. It was just a flat yellow color until now.
Hope that helps
I know better artists can just draw everything by hand, no filters, but I'm not THAT good and I reckon giving some tips to simulate the artstye with visual effects for other folks who aren't nearly as good will help them make their drawing look more authentic to the game.
