After his unexpected promotion to being the newest Egg Boss of the western United Federation (https://sfw.furaffinity.net/view/57853555/) and the subsequent recruitment of his girlfriend to being an actress at Breeziewood studios (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/57756813/), Frost... er, Boss Frostbite had a lot of work ahead of him. But more than anything, his priority was the same it had always been- pulling his mother out of imprisonment. Though for the kind of 'rescue' he had planned, he'd need a little help from his cute dumpling...
Holiday almost didn't recognize the boy who'd demanded on opening her cell at Prison Island, with his slicked-back hair and the shiny double-breasted suit puffing up his figure- she certainly didn't know the girl hanging on his arm, as the two dragged the bedraggled snow leopardess out of her confinement. A hundred questions were going through her head about her boy; how he'd changed so much from the frail young sweetheart she'd thrown herself in harm's way to protect, why his arms had been replaced with cold steel... but before she could ask much of anything, those arms were grappling her close to his chest, holding her in place and primed for the bottle of perfume the girl in the red dress was holding out. She'd pleaded for her boy to let her go, to explain what was going on, but all that Holiday received was a spray of perfume that smelled almost too sweet, unmistakably artificial... and in a matter of moments, her body went limp and darkness filled her vision as the nanites within began to work their will on her mind.
It took quite a few weeks to renovate the dingy 'AGES Arcade' from the measly two-floor home and mini-cafe it used to serve as, but Frostbite was nothing if not determined. With the assistance of an ever-growing workforce he'd made out of Resistance troops and civilians alike, the Snow Leopard had upscaled his and his Ma's former home into a deluxe tower of dining and decadence: the 'Yuletide Lounge'. Why settle for a humble little cabinet of arcade games and trading cards, when you could oversee a five-star restaurant catering to rich clientele and full of entertainment to keep people coming back?
Of course, his Ma had been there to oversee its construction from start to finish, after being properly adjusted to new life in the Eggman Empire (and given a new wardrobe by Hongcha). Every detail was to her refined tastes, the staff and their shiny new uniforms closely vetted, but the Egg Boss didn’t mind- the Lounge was his way of paying Ma back for the years she’d spent providing for him; now he could provide her with gainful employment while she lounged around her domain in a luxurious silk robe.
If Holiday’s shrill titter of glee didn’t make clear her elation, her tail curling ‘round that of her son’s certainly did. With a chivalric kiss of her hand, Frostbite declared the property fit for service; yet another facet of the neon metropolis that Dr. Eggman had renovated West Cape into through the young snow leopard. Though his alliances had changed, the people he loved never had- even as a villain, he was still his Mama’s boy. Always had been, always would be~
I'm taking a bit of time off from the commission uploads to share some more personal art this week; with my 400th Deviation coming up it felt more timely to share things I've had a lot of personal interest in. This one's a bit of bulli for my buddy LunasKnight, who provided the inspiration for Frost's mother Holiday, and with her new outfit provided by Gaminglover (AKA Trey) doin' the concept for a robe over some slinky nightgown. Rendering took a while for this piece (probably due to the complicated posing), but I'm REALLY proud of the results; hope to make this my new default for rendered Mobian content. And I hope you all like the fancy film-noir aesthetic making a comeback!
