This is an old story of mine set in the same world and focusing on different characters from a longer, novel and/or graphic novel I am working on. ...All my stories are old now, actually, heh; I've hardly gotten any writing done for some years running by now. Darn you, school and RL and other things which demand my time, money, and attention! *shakes fist*

Anyhow, this story was actually originally inspired by an Anthrocon theme of "Heroes," written to their conbook specifications but never submitted. I'd also toyed with the idea of submitting it to RMFC's conbook--a con I could probably actually *go* to--but, er, hadn't and have probably passed the deadine by now. Hah. ...submitted and got it published in the conbook, actually, though I no longer have a physical copy now. (Pyro and co. really aren't *super*heroes anyway, mind you, so I'm not entirely certain how well they fit in with the rest. :P ) I kept it to 1000 words, shockingly enough--I do NOT write short, generally speaking--and even more amazingly, it's a short story I was actually pleased with. Woot? Even if it is more of a teaser than a complete story unto itself. It could probably use some more editing--critique from others is always gladly welcomed!
Thumbnail is a pic that ought to be shaded and finished someday, too, but when that'll happen, nobody knows. Pyro is a fun boy to draw, though, and even more unrelentingly cheerful than my character Bryndel herself, generally speaking(!).
