Bird's so soft his wings can't even hold themselves up.
Been rendering an animation for the last two days, which has left me rather bored- can't use my computer for much of anything while it's rendering, so I've mostly just been twiddling my thumbs while occasionally checking the renders and fixing small issues.
I've finally become bored enough that silly ideas have started entering my mind, and this was one that demanded to be drawn. I'm not sure why- it's not particularly funny or interesting, just an interaction between characters that my brain told me to draw. Being an artist is like that sometimes... brain says "Hey, here's a thing, draw it" and you'll say "but why?" and it'll say "no why, only draw", and there's not much you can do besides shrug your shoulders and draw the thing. So I dusted off the old tablet computer I don't use for drawing anymore and got to work...
Being a lover of exotic creatures, I felt like zoologist lady would find Adhina's weird wings an interesting trait. At least a modest curiosity, anyway!

I'd just buy one, I can technically afford it, but it's a tad hard to justify. Waiting for rendering slows me down a little, but it's not the biggest bottleneck by a country mile, actually animating is what eats up all the time. A second computer would save me two or three days every once in a while... it would technically let me make more stuff, but I'm not sure enough more stuff to be worth it. :P

Went into it a tiny bit above, but basically same answer here- I can, I'm just not sure it's worth it. Since I work in Eevee, rendering is usually only two or three days, and after a big animation I usually want a little downtime anyway... it might let me make a little more stuff than I currently do, but given the prices of GPUs these days, I'm not sure it would be enough to really be worth it. :P
Regarding the price of GPUs, Framework is currently announcing something of a monster for relatively little: have a look here, if you're curious
I'm very intrigued by what framework is doing in general, but at the same time as a guy who doesn't use laptops and already builds his own PCs there's not a ton of use for one of those for me. The GPU is relatively low spec as well, which is the most important part for rendering.
Basically, framework ain't for me, but I really hope they do well anyway. :P

It's actually a world-beater in terms of AI performance, and I want to migrate from Alexa to something I can shoot if it starts making Skynet sounding comments. ^__^ I'm also generally a fan of good opsec and info hygiene, both on principle and to avoid going from "doxxed" to "swatted" at any point in my life; call me paranoid but I did have a stalker at one point. Really though, the thing that makes Strix Halo sweet is the ungodly huge RAM pool you can get, and I've typically found that memory starvation is the first bottleneck to slow down a computer. Good for cryptomining, good for abominable intelligence, and … tabaholics like me who leave six hundred websites and two AAA games open sometimes. (You'd think it would be easier to cut that shit out…)

If he can't fly with his wings then perhaps they're floppy as a trait to indicate their vestigial nature? Like, in the past, avians with wing-arms could fly with them, but over time they lost that trait and evolved smaller and less-cumbersome floppy feathers through evolution. This is opposed to the larger, more rigid feathers of avians with back-wings, which while more cumbersome and energy-intensive to keep through evolutionary means do still actually allow flight.

He definitely can't fly, haha. Nothing that's shaped more or less like a human should be able to fly, regardless of the wings... the muscle structure just ain't there. But the wings are definitely another nail in that coffin for sure. They're not useful for much of anything besides being blankets maybe.
