In the cartoon version, Wonder Woman had to take it off from Batman and beware the thing doesn't jump to her next, and so she did thanks to her super strength.
In the comic version, Robin uses a pair of big gloves to grab the parasite and make sure it doesn't jump to him next.
Basically that way they saved their friends from that thing ^^
