My favorite hen passed away this morning. She was a Leghorn breed, had had time to be a mom, spent her summers in the trees and tasted lots of yummy treats. She was very shy and was not the very first in the pecking order and was old.
I don't know the cause of her demise because she was active as recently as yesterday. I am leaning towards it being a heart attack because she was lying on the ground under the perch. It hurts me so much to let her go, I pray she died without pain or suffering.

I know its 6 month ago but I understand your sorrow, I had serama bantam hen passaway and she ment everything to me, every night she would snuggle up to me well we watched TV and ome day she went and fell asleep on me when I broke my hand...I had her for 12 years and one day she just past away, her name was Toulouli and I had her cremated and put into a vase style urn that I stays on the mantle...I really miss her so I know you are feeling it...Toulouli gave me 2 hens who are now the Loulou sisters, hope nothing but the best for you and your flock
