Recording Setup First Full Test Recording
posted 7 months ago Auto Mech, Sound Engie, Organist | Support me with Shinies!
Testing the full recording setup by performing a full articulation improv. Its not very good, and I am not good at playing and has lots of mistakes so dont complain about it, I already know. The highs are ear bleeding so do note that some parts of the recording may be very high pitched, the deflectors in the rotary cabinet are broken so the dissipation to fix that problem is not there, and there is nothing i can do about it right now due to money problems and health. The setup consists of an 80s mic stand and boom with 2 cardioid microphones and 1 shotgun directional taped to it with electrical tape and tissues, and 1 cardioid properly affixed in front of the 1974 Leslie 147 speaker cabinet to capture the horn in stereo and the drum in mono. Those are connected in XLR to a Mackie CR1604 16 channel mixer. There is also a Peavey XM6 mixer pre amp ran direct line from the 1958 Hammond C3 phono out via RCA to 1/4" which runs into a tape loop and some guitar pedal effects. That outputs to the Mackie as well. The synthesizer used is a 1996 Alesis QS7 ran both combined output to the XM6 and stereo to the Mackie. XM6 outputs to the chassis guts of a 1991 peavey duel 212 with the amp removed to use the 2 12" speakers as well as 2 random stand speakers with mid and horn for room ambience and monitoring. Mackie outputs to tape for recording which is then converted to digital in audacity. From there it is converted to mp3 and compressed to fit into the Furaffinity 10MB audio limit. If you want the original quality recording, feel free to message me for a copy, i can send it in either discord or telegram. Ill also post a picture of the setup for whoever is interested. The next thing i record will probably be a story of pain painted into audio. Dealing with a cellulitis infection and my grandma just got given meds to help her through her final moments, so if you dont want to listen to something thats going to be quite emotional, ignore it. For those who read through this entire prompt, thank you for your time. I dont expect anyone to see this, and its probably just a waste, but maybe someday I could be good at making art and give people something worth hearing. For now, take care everyone.
